RexMcNew your singing really kicks ass!!! That's awesome you guys were part of these glorious times. Very cool that you are still pumped up to ROCK! Do you or Vendetta have a facebook?
Yea, I talked to Loren awhile back and he would like to see a "ReUnion" tour with ALL the members that were in Glacier. I think that it would be great--now to get a promoter to foot the bill...........Rock on Rex, Pat, Loren, and Timmo!
Rex McNew, here, Lead Vocalist on "Vendetta". Thanks for all the support everyone, much appreciated.. The writing on this song is truly amazing. Loren Bates (drummer), Tim Proctor (bass player), and Mike Podrybau (lead vocalist), (ALL PART OF THE GLACIER LINE UP) are joining forces with me on a new recording project. There are several other musicians involved, and the finished product is going to be great. Will keep you posted. Thanks A whole lot to Todd, Brian and Christopher. Best, Rebel Rex.
Hey Guys, this is Patrick - original guitarist and co-founder of Glacier. I'm blown away by all the comments here, to think that this music is still relevent to people 25 years after it was written is amazing. Thank you all for the sincere comments. To give you some info I'm talking to a guy in Florida about releasing the EP on CD. Need to solidify things and run it by the guys-so stay tuned. Also, check out a website I just launced with my concert photography ArenaRockPhotosdotcom.
@TheEvilBaron Luckily they aren't, cause they would put the actual Maidens to disgrace. Glacier had such a incredible high potential. Sadly they never made it.
VENDETTA VERSE 1: When we come out of the dark we'll be looking for you Come face to face it's a race for your life better run There's nothing else you can do We're coming up from behind and moving in for attack Your golden dreams now it seems that they're slipping away And fading into black CHORUS: Restless we wait in the night Hiding away from the light – so watch out Nowhere to run – nowhere to hide Restless we wait – we wait in the night
According to a mail from Rex McNew the Glacier EP will be finally released on CD. Hope it's true and all you followers will be supporting the re-release.
I just talked to Rex last night---he didnt mention the cd coming out. But we are working on a song for Japan that will be a benefit and all proceeds will go to them. Also Mike Podrybau--other singer for Glacier will contribute as well as Loren (drums) and Tim (bass). I will keep everyone posted when its ready.
@RATDAT3 well, i only posted what Rex wrote me in a mail 'Glacier is finally being released on CD'. But anyway, great to see that there is something new coming. :)
@Signofevil The info on Glacier releasing the album on CD was posted on the Ultimate Metal Forum just a few days ago.The blue text directly under the play count on this video. I thought everyone had already seen it posted on there. Sorry guys, never presume should always be my motto. Thanks to all. Best, Rex McNew
Hi, I'm Tim. I was the bass player in Glacier from 1983-1985. You can see me on the far right at 3:42 and also at the end of the song. I wrote or cowrote all 5 songs on this record and designed the cover (which was painted by the talented David Delamare.) I think I still have 2 copies. It's really cool to see all the great comments. We wrote some songs after this album which sadly never got recorded that were absolutely mind-blowing. I will always have fond memories of playing with this band.
@bodowen sir i just have to say that im pissed you guys didnt get really popular i wish there could be way more of this but atleast theres something for the fans
@bodowen Hi Tim, thank you for your informations! always nice to see when former bandmembers pop in to see their own old stuff. Especially nice in the underground if they also see the positive aspect of these posts.
I am happy to oblige but YouTube comments have a 500 character limit so I'll have to break it into chunks. I will post them in reverse so they come out in the correct order (I hope.) Cheers!
I Love this Band soo much!!! its a shame,GLACIER never get the attention they deserve!!! On Ebay i found a limited CD version named "The Writers Eye" with the 5 track EP from 1985 and as a bonus the very good studio-sounding 4 track Demo from 1988,with also genius songs on it.A big thanks and cheers goes to HOT METAL RECORDS for bringing this forgotten masterpiece out again!!!
here the songs from the demo. 1:"eastern guns" 2:"the blind leadin` the blind" 3:the writers eye" 4:"silence is golden"
@Signofevil i was not aware of that.you are right, but otherwise, why the band,if they have still the rights on their material, release not their entire material themself?maybe its too expensive,i think.
i know its a shame, but what do you choose:you buy this bootleg, and the artist see no many or you buy it not and in this case the band see also no many.and its such a rare piece of music.now im happy to have something in my hands.and if the band brings out a cd,i buy the album again.i promise!

Just watch for any record shows in your area, its amazing what you can pick up. I found an lp from London (Fred Coury from Cinderella's band before he joined cinderella) at a show back in 2006.

fantastic band great song. like it or not this unique music was only for decades like 80s and 90s;)your comment is true and kind and i understand what you mean about the bootleg think.for me the best way is to copy and give each other cds cassetes etc not downloading 829374387584357 mp3 a day.when people were able to exchange back there they were carefully listening and knew why a band was great musically or not.nowdays few people can see and feel music that way

and only this reason gives others the right to make illegal copies, rip off buyers by selling 2nd hand quality for a higher price than a official record and making alot cash with the ideas from others.

And finally a Galcier EP is never 225 bucks. Even if the musically quality is worth it!
@Signofevil bootlegging helps more then hurts, this band should just be happy people have even heard them an not worried about record sales, if your into music for money then you have no place in art. I support bands when they come to my area an tour, I buy t-shirts i support it, i just dont think i should have to scour the earth from an albumthen have to actually PAY the money that the album a rare band like this isnt even gonna get it, just some salesman.
not disrespecting the band or you fans but you can hear the iron maiden influence like crazy but not bad at all though good to hear classic heavy metal now since these kids screwed it all up
In how many other bands you hear influences from Maiden? Or even what influences you hear in Maiden? It's great to show influences, especially when the result is even better than the influence. ;)
When i first posted this vid i never expected the great response it will have. Thank you to all the people who shared comments and especially thank you to the band letting it online.
The guy who sang this tune is now REBEL REX and he's back, big time. He loves great imput. Pussy vocals is a compliment. Guess those opera lesssons really paid off. Check it out Rebel Rex & Maggie Sayles
@Megathrax84 that's another case.. the musician part is the most difficult indeed ;) Full of idiots that are trying to play 1232131 notes per minute of digital disgusting sound, in an era that rhythm is the case mostly and melodies and feeling is left behind. I know
@FRNKGL Are you bringing up Tim Lachman because he sang on the demo that followed this EP? Tim lives in L.A. now but is not heavily involved in music anymore. Of course his younger brother Pat was the guitarist with Halford on 'Resurrection' and 'Crucible' and the vocalist for Damageplan, Dime and Vinnie from Pantera's band.
wow!! wow!!!! THIS IS USA POWER METAL AT ITS BEST!!!!! Amazing .. what a feeling!!!

VERSE 2:
Swift run the sands of your life but in your hour of pain
You've got to stifle your screams tell yourself it's a dream
To keep from going insane
You're trapped inside of the truth and there is no escape
It's time that you realize you're out of alibis
How much more can you take?
REPEAT CHORUS

VERSE 3:
Now you owe me your life and I have come to collect
You've got nothing to prove but this is one move
That you are going to regret
I watch you running in fear – my bullet carries your name
Vengeance pounds in my head - won't stop until you are dead
And you have tasted the pain

fdaapproved 2 years ago
not disrespecting the band or you fans but you can hear the iron maiden influence like crazy but not bad at all though good to hear classic heavy metal now since these kids screwed it all up
painkiller625 2 years ago
In how many other bands you hear influences from Maiden? Or even what influences you hear in Maiden? It's great to show influences, especially when the result is even better than the influence. ;)

Go to Glaciers' Myspace page. All the info about the band is on there. Best, Rebel Rex

"Let yourself be taken back to the glorious time when metal was what it was meant to be."
Those were the days, long before scene kids and all that nu metal and deathcore garbage.

Megathrax84 1 year ago
@Megathrax84 we shouldn't care. this is something personal for the few people who understand it. it exists and it makes me happy
AsphyxGr 1 year ago
@AsphyxGr the reason I care is it's hard to find musicians
Megathrax84 1 year ago
@Megathrax84 that's another case.. the musician part is the most difficult indeed ;) Full of idiots that are trying to play 1232131 notes per minute of digital disgusting sound, in an era that rhythm is the case mostly and melodies and feeling is left behind. I know

This album is awesome true metal. What ever happened to Tim Lachman he was awesome singer.
FRNKGL 3 years ago
@FRNKGL Are you bringing up Tim Lachman because he sang on the demo that followed this EP? Tim lives in L.A. now but is not heavily involved in music anymore. Of course his younger brother Pat was the guitarist with Halford on 'Resurrection' and 'Crucible' and the vocalist for Damageplan, Dime and Vinnie from Pantera's band.
