You wasted a lot of resourses by keeping alive all the scouts, after you realised there was only one way left to explore. I am a hardcore supcom/cnc player and I have never played the civ series until now. I have to tell you guys civ 5 is an awesome game, its obviously different than the games I just mentioned but its a good different. Don't expect to complete a 12 player world sized map in an hour though.

Sorry to say that Civ 5 is not for all the gamers.

its only for the pros who have stood the tests of Civ2 Civ3 Civ4 or even Civ1, OR for some newbies with EXTREM patience and...maybe better IQ...

if you find Civ5 hard to play,maybe other games such as Starcraft2 suit you.

Of course you need more P S and S for SC2 if you get deeper in it since basically SC2 is a agonistic game.

i just meant that sc2 is easy to START with whereas civ5 is hard to START with.

@balabalayt Don't listen to SCII fan boys. I personally have played BW for years and SCII since release but have played original SNES Civ 1, Civ 3 and Civ 4. The more in depth game BY FAR is Civilization 5. SCII isn't even fucking complete..full of imbalances and favors dumb ass strats that end the game in 8 minutes. Civ is much more complex period. I don't even get the comparisions. One is RTS and is TBS.

Complexity and the realism of the game makes it much more superior to contemporary strategy games (namely Total war series)

@Hawktotalwar yes you can choose your starting age, i usually play different types, but when i am not going full military i like to enjoy a long game and make it to the 2000's

@unmgame1 Don't give up just yet! We are creating Immortal level difficulty guides in the TGN Games YouTube channel (also in Favorites in this channel). It really is a great game with much more strategy then the previous Civ, but it can be frustrating until you learn all the secrets.

@Zephyr49 Just keep trying man,it's pretty easy once you get the hang of it,i can help you if you need any help.

Try starting on the easiest difficulty,build scouts first as they are important for exploration,followed by workers,workers basically improve your tiles so you get extra income,on top of the tile's resources

I think it's a good thing that I download my games before I buy them to see if I like the game or not. Like others I did all the tutorials but I still don't know what I'm doing. The game is complex and I like that, but a good explanation would be welcome. There is like a whole encyclopedia of text on what to do but it still doesn't make any sense. Too bad because I think the game can be great once you understand how it works. I'm uninstalling the game and def not gonna buy this.

@Zephyr49 Complexity is the reason why so many people enjoy Civ, it contributes a lot to its re-playability and fun factors. I think Civ is definitely one of five the greatest games ever made.
