You probably need to convert the file type. Sony Vegas is shitty like that. AnyVideoConverter does it. Free trial, or buy it for like 20 bucks. I have to do it already to make game vids. Convert them to MP4...or I do anyway.

Chances are the vid will play in Windows Movie Maker without conversion.

Unfortunately you can't post these files to youtube, because they are in swf format. If you want to post screen captures to youtube, the same company makes a product called camtasia (I think its about $200) or you can get a free screen capture software called camstudio. Both save screen captures in youtube uploadable formats.

not only this, but the frame rate is rubbish, about one frame a second, this is due to it - for some reason, slowing the computer down quite alot, i think it may be due to the fact that it is constantly uploading the video to the web as soon as you start the recording.

It does not spit out useable files for youtube... so? Still seems to be a decent alternative to Camtasia, not to mention that you can easily make and manipulate screenshots. It's beyond my comprehension how you can give someone crap for making a free educational video for you guys.
