@Flyinghotpocket Actually, he gave the correct names for those 'Mechs, because the Inner Sphere had different names to the Clans for Clan 'Mechs. The Clans called them Summoner and Timberwolf. Thor and Mad Cat are the IS identifications.

What I love about this game is the desperation of the plot - youre up to 4 mechs and 3 mcv's against an entire world. You have to salvage every single item you use from the battlefield. In MW 4, the plot may be "desperate" but you have more pilots then mechs, and all the missions are on someone else's terms, following someone else's tempo. It just gets worse in the expansions. In this game, it's truely up to you - you decide what mechs to bring, you decide when your fragile allies move up, etc

I played this game from 1999 to 2002 (age 6 to age 9). I remember sitting in this very room I'm sitting in now (on the other side of it when my desk setup was different) and spending so much time playing, truely an epic game. I still have the box in my closet. I may pull it out again and play it after watching this.

It ranks up there with Halo 1, which I still play and have played since 2004.

I miss this dark gritty style, made this game sick. I also like the feel, it's like these mechs have been wartorn and fighting for a long time, it's not like fresh brand new perfect mechs are out for every single fight when a city is under siege and stuff. Just an awesome video, I hope MW5 keeps this scary apocolyptic style, allows omni-mechs to be configured, and follows general BT rules. I'll probably buy it anyway I just hope it's as awesome as I'm expecting.

@BobSaggot666 'Mad Cat' is the Inner Sphere name for the Timber Wolf (and later, becomes an Inner Sphere variant) because when the Clans first started their invasion of the IS, their targeting computers couldn't distinguish it between a Catapult and a Marauder.

@SpawnofChaos2010 Eh, the Clanners had far more success than Nazis and morally (by BattleTech standards) they aren't much greyer than the Inner Sphere. Besides, plenty of armies pulled that stunt, Napoleonic France, Alexander the Great, etc.

I think the Clanners were based off Sparta originally (by the writers) but then they were developed into something that wasn't rooted in any one real life culture. Which, in-universe, was exactly the point.

To be honest, AC 20s are ridiculously expensive (Clan fares better though), though that's just me being biased towards energy weapons and seeing the AC 10 one of the best weapons in Mech3 (at the start of the campaign, your MFB's hold about 800 rounds of AC 10 ammo, and it's basically the best weapon until you get enough ammo for an LB-X or an Ultra in Ops Zone 3).
