  • Most of you are really really wrong, in freestyle reining regardless of age you can ride 2 handed in the bridle. On the other hand it's 5 & under for snaffle in AQHA,APHA, and only in the 5& under snaffle bit/ hackamore nrha approved event. Other than that as of 3 any NRHA event showing in NON PRO or OPEN or lmt/int your horse must be one handed in the bridle.

As for the people with rude comments as to her performance, is this what you do with your time? Write mean UN needed comments on peopl

  • Love it that's my cousin

  • to be honest, I don't like all of the decoration hanging off of the horse. maybe it's just because my horse would spook at it so yeah but idk i don't think it makes the horse look any prettier than if they just left it natural. great job, though, they obviously work well together!

  • 2:20 - 2:35

  • To all those rude comments about this girl being a hard rider and heavy handed, I think you need to watch CLOSER. I am a very heavy handed rider so I know what heavy hands look like. This girl is NOT heavy handed. I think the horse wasn't a "finished" reiner. The horse uses a lot of impulsion and power in the rear which is why her legs look the way they do. Ya'll must have not noticed where she lifted her hands and did that stop. Beautiful. You guys need to shut up or go re read some definitions

  • if i put those streamers on my horses bridle he would be like um no. i am a man get them off

  • you and ur horse look amazing! fantastic job;)

  • Wow. Verrry inspiring! Is it supposed to be in support of breast cancer, what with the pink ribbons and everything?

  • ur horse is beautiful

  • Heavy hands

  • He is really stiff when he runs, behind the bridle, and when he stops he drops his head, he doesnt really truely crossover when spinning bu god job on stops, roll backs, and not over spinning. I thinking riding one handed would have looked better to the judges too.

  • the horse has nice spins but a stiff gait. I am really not intothe pattern, the horse couldnt stop nice in the middle stops because the were doing speed circles. She should have put the slow circles right before the stops in the center ring.

    BEautiful slide stops and rollbacks

  • i think the breast cancer thing should have been made more clear. The costume is a little odd. But amazing ride:)

  • it looked like she was over using her seat.

  • i agree

  • this is soooooooo amazing! im a hunter/jumper and foxhunter and this is so cool!!!!!!! :D

  • omg! she is sooo gud! u hav NO idea how hard that is!

  • This song was played at my uncles funeral. She is an amazing rider, a good horse if its not spooking at all the pink tassles flying around it :P awesome video. loved it.

  • which song is it?

  • Pourquoi avoir déguisé le cheval de cette manière !!! Laissez-le au naturel, il sera bien plus beau !!! Pas fort !!!

  • I have watched this video so many times and i never get tired of it i luv this reiner

  • There will be a special place in heaven for this great horse. Audrey Wood, N.R.H.A. Non Pro # 14522

  • this was beautiful

  • am i right that she's riding with the reins in two hands b/c her horse is young?

  • Yes, a horse 4 and under you can ride two handed in shows, not sure about reining competitions, but pretty sure.

  • Could be. She could just be riding in a snaffle too.

  • At least she's out there having a go!! Sad song.....

  • love the horse. the rider rides too hard

  • This horse just died from cancer. :( He was an AMAZING HORSE!!!!!!

  • Nice run, but the outfit, and the song... :')

    Do not like it... Srry...

  • This is amazing. I love that song, it was played at my Grandmothers funeral & it has special meaning to me.

I just wish this didn't have cuts in it. I would love to see the whole thing in it's entirity.

  • Absolutely breath taking!!! WOW unbeleivable horse... and rider... CONGRATS

  • Awesome run!! Love the costume

  • Love this video =] great job!

  • WOW AMAZING HORSE!

  • Super video

  • wow absolutely amazing,,great spins, the horse really sticks his leg well! Great ride!

  • Amazing horse.

  • the custume is for brest cancer i think,

because when she did her first two big slides across the arena she went at a diagonal and it made a ribbon.

  • i think i understand the costume. its all baby pink, - Breast Cancer Color - so im thinkin, with that song that the costume and the ride itself is about cancer.

  • the only critique i have is on the first slide, it really wasn't a GREAT one, I give her credit though, it was really good. I don't understand the costume though...

  • Such a good run, i dont understand the costume though

  • This is such a neat and talented horse. I was so sad when I found out he has cancer. Google "Guinness reining horse" and you can probably find out some info about his progress.

  • her horse is all fancy! lol they look good!

  • she is just sOOO great !! wow it realy realy GOOD !!!!!

  • really good, i dont get the costume though! that horse is awesome. my reiner and i need to go to some nrha shows, right now we only show on the arabian breed circuit. you can check out one of our freestyles we did at an open horse show that i uploaded

  • Hey, what is this song called? thank you.

  • the song is called "there you'll be"

  • The song is called "There You'll Be" by Faith Hill.

  • this is a really good video. Just one question, i ride english so i might be wrong, but is she holding her reins in both hands? cuz i heard that for western u only hold them in ur left hand.

  • In "freestyle" reining you can use 2 hands. Pretty much anything goes as long as you do the required number of maneuvers.

  • o ok, i was just wondering. like i said i know nothing about weastern riding. thanks!

  • @riprock88 umlee your horse under the age of two

  • @riprock88

Wrong. In western, using two hands is only with snaffles. Idk why she got away with using two hands with a shank bit.

  • @sportsbabe27

in reining in some levels u can

  • @sportsbabe27 also it depends on the bit you use some you can use 2 hands with and some only 1 and also you can use either right or left but most people choose left so if they want to rope they can use their right hand

  • @sportsbabe27 you can use either or. in competition too, you just have to keep with 2 hands for that run, you cant in the middle of your run switch to using one hand [:

  • @sportsbabe27 and you can hold them in either left or right...really depends which direction your going...but most of the time you can only use one hand

  • very good. perfect routine and his slides were AWESOME! very well done!

  • love it. his lope wasn't rough, she was cueing him with her body instead of her spurs. i do it all the time with my horse.

  • omg that was perfect! very well done! reining is truelly the most beautiful horse sport there is, you look beautiful togeather. Very well trained horse. Awsome! I used to ride reining horses and i don't anymore, i miss it so much! Again beautiful and awsome ride!

  • well done. congrats on your win.

  • very nice.

  • Thx a lot:)))) This is a huge help for me:)

  • by the way rhe song is I'll be there for you by Faith Hill awesome horse and rider!

  • I guess it's Celine Dion.. But i'm not sure.

  • Do anyone know the name of the song in the video? It's essential for me... please:)

p.s: Awesome horse and rider!:) Best reining show ever!

  • Nicely ridden!

  • Great horse, dorky costume.

  • Dorky rider girl too.

  • poor horse

  • why is it a poor horse?

  • All those ribbons & stuff on it

  • poor horse, what are you talking about, horses love this. Don't be sooo jealous. When you ride a reining horse you will relize that that they are the nicest horses to ever ride!! Good job Kirstin & Guinness!

  • well i kno i would hate it

  • oh god yea. must be terrible. poor horse, getting all that attension. poor horse must be kept such bad condition nd hav such a bad life nd just magically amazing! ... if its that good of a horse, hes looked after well.

  • This was great, I was kind of hoping she'd go along with the song a little more tho.

  • prettycoolgrl, you are so wrong. She is very talented, the girl and the horse. The horse looks like she is in perfect health, not fat. Oh and wat r those frilly looking things on the mane, tail, and everywhere else? I have never seen them, but they are cool. riprock88, you are very good. You praised your horse in the end, which is not what many people do.

  • prettygoolgrl,

if she couldnt ride. she wouldnt be in a futurity

go take some lessons on how ride. and that horse is not at all fat

  • Nice job!! For horse and rider!!

    Love the ribbons!!

  • EXTREMELY talented horse. Just...wow

  • This is amazing, nice slides and spins

  • not in a freestyle...you can use two hands

  • Too Bad he is lame now....he is the most amazing stoper i have ever seen.

  • When did he go lame what happended?

  • He's lame! too bad he's a great horse. No offense though but he looks like he's got a rough lope. Great stop!!

  • well am really not sure...but he is retired now....but i know he was ran lame @ reining by the Bay

  • why is he lame now? is it serious? what did he do?

  • Too bad is is lame now...

  • nettes pferdchen stoppt schön^^ macht meins leider net

  • I love reining but I do not like the toilet paper hanging from this horse's mane, tail and reins.

  • amywhippet you have no idea how wrong u r reining is not easy for the horse or rider to learn it takes practice just like any other discipline i'd like to see u without teaching your horse to slide and stop 2o feet from a dead gallop and know ur horse is going to stop by just saying whoa and sitting down i don't even touch the reins to stop my stallion

  • Magnifique !! Beautifull !

    Tout en douceur =)

    Superbe !!

  • ottimo addestramento:sembra facile far fare ad un cavallo tutto questo...ma non è così.

E' sciocco chi asserisce il contrario

  • that was boring, anyone can gallop, turn and back up

  • Anyone who rides well at all can appreciate any discipline for it's skill and beauty. I'm a cutter not a reiner, but reining done well is amazing. Jumping done well is amazing. Dressage done well is amazing.

  • amywhippet, I can tell you've never ridden a reiner (or any well-trained athletic horse). It's more than you can imagine.

  • You have no frickin' idea about what you are talking about.

  • not all horses, have you ever ridden?

  • HAHA.. the trick is training the horse to respond like that on loose rien. Go get a vid of you doing that then you can talk. I have been horse riding my whole life and i would not even pretend that I could ride like that, and forget training a horse to do that!

  • Honey, go take a lesson, read a book, and learn how to spell. That horse never cross cantered once, she's riding with a nice seat, and if you think that horse is fat, I'd really hate to see what your horse looks like. You just jealous much or what??

  • My comment below is meant for "prettycoolgrl"

  • Sorry, I meant to say my comment was meant for the OP, not prettycoolgirl. My mistake.

  • who's the OP?

  • I meant amywhippet, not alyssalovesanselmi

  • Are we talking about the same person? I'm not talking about this video or Guinness. I'm talking about alyssalovesanselmi

  • OP is the "original poster" that we replied to, the OP here is amywhippet. I meant to say her name, not yours :)

  • Very nice ... LOVE the ribbons! :)

  • actually, if trained properly when they are younger [not pushed too hard] and are properly looked after, the risks of joint problems are reduced significantly.

  • i rescued 3 year old palomino paint mare from slaughter this summer

  • HOly Tolito!! Look at those stops!!! Pure Beauty

  • is that really good for horses? locking their hind legs and skidding to a halt like that....idk, it doesn't look pleasant.

  • They wear special slider shoes to make it easier.

  • yeah, but im talking about their joints.

  • Well, the horse who are best at reining tend to be a

bit sickle-hocked (looks like the hock is still bent a bit even when straight) and that conformation makes it easier to take the strain of these stops.

Reining is a tough sport, but I think not as hard on horses as jumping (which I also love, but it's hard on the horse's legs).

  • i dunno. id vote that reining is worse. but im no vet or expert.

  • I believe jumping is a lot harder on the horses legs. But remember, everything we do in reining, or most other horse sports, is something the horse does naturally. Reiners live 30+ years, it can't be that hard on them.

  • I would also like the Embed URL please.

  • Is is faith hill? No not on the horse silly the song? I have a question, forgive me because I am from England and love reining and learnt the very basics, but can reining be done with either two hands or one? Is there a correct method?

    Love this vid, very graceful.

  • You can use one or two hands. If you come into the arena with one hand, you can not switch to two at any point, not even for a second. Vice-versa. If your horse is being a bit chargy or spooky two may be more comfortable to the rider (for more controll), but really there is nothing special about 1 or 2 hands.

  • Two hands is used for futurity horses (3 year olds), and like the other poster said, you can't switch back and forth. Depending on the association you're competing in, two handed riding may be prohibited for horses older than 3.

  • If you go into the arena with 1 hand, and you swich to two hands for even 1 second, your disqualified. Vice Versa.

  • Isn't one hand ussualy reserved for curbs and two hands for snaffles?

  • wats that song ?? someone!! i need to know!! lol

  • can i please have the Embed url?

  • lol i liked the think that said 'big ass fans'

  • BEAUTIFUL!

  • This horse is awesome!

    And a rider too!

  • Holy cow that horse is a mover!

  • Woe amazing horse xD

  • man hes got a lot of torque!

  • all i can say is WOW!

  • That was awesome! I watched it about 3 times! What a talented horse, and rider! Congrads, a most deserved 1st place!

  • I would kill for my horse to preform that well in the show ring. Especially the her spins, those were great. HUGE stopper!!!! I dont care what you say, she clearly has tromendous control of the horse to be able to lay down a big stop like that with her hands clear above her head. You think thats not hard, go try it!

  • My type of reining horse! He does awesome spins!! Slides are great too and I think he is very balanced. This horse is lovely.

  • It was a wonderful job by the horse, but I think the rider was lucky the horse was so good, because she could fine tune her riding ability a bit. As for the costume choice, it could've been more inventive, but really they did get first place!

  • Very nice, skilled rider, I may be an english rider but it's very fun and intersting to watch western events.

  • omg awesome horse! if i did reining instead of barrel racing i'd want a horse like him!

  • wow..wish I could have a horse like that....amazing, beautiful stops!!

  • love the outfit!! :) and what a slider!!

  • thats abserlutly amazing. u deserved to come 1st.

    Nice 1

  • What an amazing horse!
