Some people think it hurts some people think it doesn't its how people take pain,i got mine pierced when i was 11 and it didnt hurt, my friend got it done when she was 12 and it hurt her.
Honestly, when I got mine done it did hurt a lot. However, it isn't the kind of pain most of you are probably thinking of. It's just A LOT of pressure and for about 5 seconds its not great but honestly after that it doesn't hurt at all, maybe just a little bit sore. Afterwards, its worth the little bit of pain you do experience and you should definitely get it if you want:)

however, this is for personal.
changing it yourself, which is very tricky and fiddly, as you need to put the bar in at the back and push it through, and theres not much space to hold it, making it difficult to be able to push it through
i got mine done yeterday :) and yeeah it hurt, and the worst part was he had it clamped and he put the needle through (i heard like three cracks/pops, it was rank!) and then he had to reach up to grab something, and while he was doing that he was freaking pulling me with him and like pulling on my ear while the clamps and needle were still on it, haha. but yeah its going pretty good, it's hard not to sleep on it.
@9292steph it doesnt have to be it can be done with a stud too but it depends where you go. One piercing place by me only does hoops, the other only studs and another you have your pick.

Got mine done five days ago but I think because I'm in the UK I got the option of a stud rather than the hoop. I have a little blue crystal in mine, think it's so cute :) didn't hurt a bit, it just bleeds sometimes when I'm cleaning it but it doesn't hurt :) x
@LotOfSugar A needle! Never get anywhere on your ear pierced with a gun besides your earlobe; and even then it's better to get them pierced with a needle.

okay your tragus is the hardest piece of cartliege on your entire body, so yes its going to hurt. i had mine done two years ago and im not going to lie it was the most painful piercing ive gotten thus far, and ive got my tongue bellybutton cartilege and lobes pierced. but it really is worth it. just go and do it, whatever pain there is will only last a few seconds anyways (:
I just got mine done yesterday. The needle definitely hurt going in. I mean, you're sticking a needle through cartilage, it's not gonna feel great. After that though it's fine. Just the initial piercing through your skin hurts. Even when they put the earring through while the needle is still in it doesn't hurt. Hope this helps.
It doesn even hurt I got my done like 2 weeks ago. An no i didn hear a popping noise. No it does not hurt when the jewlery goes in. And no it doesn hurt when you clean it. But I got both of my tragus done an the 2nd one had a little pinch but thats it. But i love them. It was sore afterwards tho like a 4 out of 10 tho.
I'm not going to lie, it hurts, but only whilst about the 5 seconds the needle is in there, the jewellery doesnt hurt when it is being put in because, well, tbh , your allready in pain and you dont notice. it hurts when you turn it but you shouldnt turn it just incast you turn the ball not the piercing and the whole thing falls out, wait until its healed a little more, and it doesnt hurt to clean at all. :]
It doesn't hurt that bad since you usually have a lot of adrenaline. It just hurts if you forget to turn it. Also if your ears get infected easily then you can't skip cleanings. But other then that, it's awesome and almost painless(:
I've never had mine done but I doubt it hurts. I got my lobes pierced with an 8 gauge needle and felt very little pain. You should be fine, so go for it.

I have mytragus and bellybutton done too, and tragus is alot more painful! I didnt think my bellybutton hurt at all. . . It's so worth it tho! Make sure you get it done with a needle and not a gun :)
@2008cheerleader I had mine done about five months ago. The piercing itself with the needle didn't hurt me at all I was actually surprised how fast my piercer did it. The 16 standard gage earring going in did hurt though. Minor pain though, nothing bad. The recovery is so easy too. I was able to sleep on the side with no discomfort. I had no problems of infection. I love it it's seriously so cute. Go to a good piercer and you'll be fine. You'll love it.

It doesn't hurt that bad since you usually have a lot of adrenaline. It just hurts if you forget to turn it. Also if your ears get infected easily then you can't skip cleanings. But other then that, it's awesome and almost painless(:

I've never had mine done but I doubt it hurts. I got my lobes pierced with an 8 gauge needle and felt very little pain. You should be fine, so go for it.

yeah im 14 and im getting mine pierced this week and im really scared :/ i dont take pain well. I have my belly button pierced and i was shaking and it hurt ! so i dont know what to expect with this piercing :/

I have mytragus and bellybutton done too, and tragus is alot more painful! I didnt think my bellybutton hurt at all. . . It's so worth it tho! Make sure you get it done with a needle and not a gun :)

@2008cheerleader I had mine done about five months ago. The piercing itself with the needle didn't hurt me at all I was actually surprised how fast my piercer did it. The 16 standard gage earring going in did hurt though. Minor pain though, nothing bad. The recovery is so easy too. I was able to sleep on the side with no discomfort. I had no problems of infection. I love it it's seriously so cute. Go to a good piercer and you'll be fine. You'll love it.
