seems like an amazing program with amazing kids however, i dont believe how the age thing is fully structured - i think if kids are ready 2 move on 2 the next level, then u have 2 accommodate their needs? i dont think all the pros started off with red, orange, green then yellow balls. I believe if u have an amazing coach who teaches u the right techniques, u train hard & your 100% commiitted, it will produce amazing results. Every1 goes through different paths 2 reach their goal of becoming pro.
I think like the Spanish approach the earlier the kids are on a full court the better in "real conditions" then the quicker tangible results will result. We need in the UK to start producing players that are ready at 14-15 to play full on tennis
i disagree. because they are so puny compared to the court, they develop abnormal techniques to compensate for the size of the court. If you size the court appropriately, they develop the appropriate techniques that they can build on as they grow instead of discarding.
@abujabi Not really, its all in the coach. A great coach can use regular balls and produce great players. A bad coach can let kids play with these soft balls and have terrible technique.
it's interesting, it seems like these kids are like treated as machines and masterpeices. It's sort of sad, but it's hard to say seeming that I don't know if they like it or not
im sure all of this is helping develop kids but if you look at great players for instance federer im sure they didnt not play on a full size court untill they were 10!! i started on a full size court when i was 9 when i first played tennis
I never realised how young they start. I started playing when i was 14, i've never had coaching so i probably have messed up technique. But im ambidextrous yay!

i apprecate your oppinion and ur probably right, it was just the way i was raised.

huh this is a bad idea. the kid should experience a full court at their first play rather thn play in smaller courts and inlarge.

Personally I think this is so dumb, since when are kids being taught on smaller courts?
Did Federer start on a smaller court? Borg? Laver?
I hate how people are trying to change tennis, when people as Federer play such a classic style and it still proves to be the best.
