Whats with all the UPS hate? Uut of hundreds of times I've shipped or received something from UPS Its been perfect. I've only had 1 minor problem and it wasn't with the package.

Some of those feeder drivers-the high paid ones-have mileage runs. They will do their scheduled run, "The Wamsutter Wyo. runs". When they get done, usually under 8 hours, they will go to the rail yard to either take or pull trailers off the trains. UPS is desperately trying to get rid of those runs, and have the trailers put on trains from Denver to SLC.

Do you work at a smaller hub/center? Most larger hubs don't send the irregs down the belt, but have a seperate system for it.

Fed Ex is the way to go -they pay their workers better and from what I've heard they treat them a lot better. Go apply at UPS and you'll make about $8.50 I've seen ads for jobs at Burger King that pay more. They will work you to death, over 80% of our new employees quit within a month. If applying you may also want some earplugs because management screams constantly to move faster, even if you are going as fast as you can. It is hard to do your job well when you are under that pressure.

I work for UPS in Houston and man I can tell you that the employees are treated crapy as well as the packages. I love the free medical insurance that is a plus but as far as management alot of them are not qualified to be in the positions they are in. Damamged packages are not the only thing you have to worry about, often times merchandise is stolem there are so many ex-cons and felons working for UPS.
