  • COMMON IS A GREAT ARTIST, SO IS KANYE.

  • Stay positive, keep evolving.

  • common is dope big time. music wise, lyrics wise, attitude wise... everythin' wise

  • @Budget0000000

So, you're going to hold him on something he said over a decade ago, completely disregarding the fact he may have changed as a person since then?

  • @aunicornist888 people should know it happened because it did. he didn't change he's just an opportunist who now spews hatred of white people behind closed doors and then smiles in their faces.

  • @Budget0000000

Well that's pure conjecture on your part. People can overcome their prejudices, that's a fact. I used to be prejudiced against gay people, but I learned to accept them for who they are.

  • @aunicornist888 did you overcome them for money, like common? lol

  • @Budget0000000

Like I said, pure conjecture. You don't that was the reason. Neither you or I know him personally so it's pointless to act like either of us know his personal intentions.

  • I like to see the old video.....good interview man.....

  • yes sir

  • Cool interview. Props to the boy Common.

  • nice interview

  • One of the dopest now he's a real artist.

  • you the kind a duke rockin' joe buddens right?

  • I totally agree, his drums and weak tracks totally messed up his album but Kanye somehow has the people fooled. Maybe if you say you're the best long enough people buy it and therefore buy it.

  • I dont see why I got thumbed down. Just speaking your opinion causes a absolute hatred on the internet lol.

And yea..those who believe Kanye is still good is oblivious to his mass ego and half assed work that he calls music.

808 & Heartbreaks (w/e its called) was just mass media making it seem decent. Commons last good album was "BE" and that was the last good work Kanye put into an album.

Personally, Common needs to call up DJ Premier or Pete Rock.

Not work with the Jonas Brothers...

  • Halfassed, and becuase he didnt put out a hiphop album is why his music is halassed? Please, almighty whover... tell me why kanye dosent make good music. and finding forever... was a very good album.

  • Whichever was his the last album he produced for Common. I dont necessarily remember.

  • u may wanna study you music history before you go posting cmmntsand bad mouthing good artists... u might wanna take dis shit to a guccimane video.lol But all commons album was a hunrded percent... with an exception to UMC... and this is coming from a real common fan. I been down since Unamerican Caravan... yea wat u kno bout tht?

  • Study my music history?

Since when was Music History a big concept in a musical opinionated world?

You obviously read my comment wrong sir, I said Kanye was a bad producer now a days, not common as an artist himself. I suggest you re-read before making a fool out of yourself.

Besides that, Common needs to work with real producers (e.g. Pete Rock, DJ Premier, 9th Wonder, Illmind) instead of Kanye West, the voice of this generation (lol).

    Such obviated blind rage.

  • Not Blind rage SIR! and ye is an excellent producer... wat makes you say otherwise, i think his workin is very well put together. Given 9th is also a great producer... none can top DILLAAAA.lls, but that said... you mentioned common having no good albums since BE, thats wat sparked my comment... so i believe i read right. What exactly didnt u like about his last albums?

  • Sorry for the misunderstanding with albums. Whichever was his last album before UMC. I thought it was BE.

UMC was just an album that I couldnt put my ears to find appealing. The beats the album had were not like the Common I used to know. Usually Common would pick the beats that were actually worth listening to. "The Questions" for example..was absolutely marvelous compared to "Gladiator" or "Punch, Drunk, Love".

  • commons first album was the best..

    kanye west ain't hiphop,he a rap/pop producer & rapper..hiphop don't need that nonsense.

hiphop is the cold crush brothers,dj whiz kid,the mighty mic masters..

  • @CustomBumpMaker,

So you must have hated Be and Finding Forever if you don't like Kanye.

  • @HARRYMARIA

    Implying already?

    Youtube community this idiotic?

Not like Kanye is a J-Dilla or DJ Premier.

    He's bad.

  • @CustomBumpMaker,

Dilla is overrated and gets way too much credit and nobody is comparing Kanye to Premo. I don't see how anybody can hate Kanye but I guess he has to be Underground to get your approval even though Yeezy has already produced for Talib Kweli, Dilated Peoples, Dead Prez, Consequence, and Mos Def.

  • LMFAO bout the jonas brothers comment!

    its true tho

  • @CustomBumpMaker,

Actually 808's was a good album but people who love music in general not just Hip Hop will enjoy it more---Kanye is a really diverse artist and I wouldn't want to put any artist in a box where their only aloud to hear and make one genre of musix.

  • @HARRYMARIA

    Being diverse?

Lots of great Producers that are diverse.

Unlike Kanye (Sampling one part, change the speed, pitch the voice, put on repeat), some actually do GREAT sampling.

J Dilla = Makes his samples into something out of this world.

Not to mention other producers don't use the same style of sampling every time. Auto tune as well, really? Only Daft Punk can use it.

  • @CustomBumpMaker,

Only Daft Punk can use it??? Somebody has obviously has never heard of Basement Jaxx plus Daft Punk are also overrated. Kanye is a way better producer than Guy and Thomas combine.

Plus Kanye doesn't just speed the samples up his beats are actually creative plus most of his beats are his just with SAMPLED VOCALS.

J Dilla never made anything out of this world and Pete Rock and Premo would kill him on a beat. Dilla gets way too much credit because he's dead period.

  • @HARRYMARIA

I lol'd so hard at the part of your comment saying "Dilla never made anything out of this world."

OBVIOUSLY haven't heard any of his unreleased material.

And he samples vocals, so did Dilla? Premo? And Pete Rock. Kanye is a horrible producer, try making AMAZING tracks for ATCQ, De La Soul, Pharcyde, Biggie Smalls, and anyone else worth mentioning.

    You're using an overrated argument.

  • @CustomBumpMaker,

Let me I've heard all of his Slum Village shit and his solo works and none of those beats blew me away.

    Kanye has produced for...

J Dilla, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Jay-Z, Dead Prez, Dilated Peoples, Slum Village, Twista, Common, Consequence, Beanie Sigel, Nas, Mobb Deep, Jadakiss, Rhymefest, Lupe Fiasco....

  • @CustomBumpMaker & @HARRYMARIA Kanye is an awesome producer. So is Dilla.

  • great interview..thats why i always watch hard knock Tv!!!

  • Everybody Always Talking About Hip Hop Dead,I miss real hip hop,Etc...Common Is Real "hip Hop" Homeboy Can Even Go Gold.......I Think Is You Who Is Confused...

  • I have to agree with you. It's kinda like if he isn't talkin about $, hoes, jewelery, and cloths its impossible to sell albums. I think Common is one of the best!

  • 5/5
