  • i cant believe that johnny dude said japan korea n france are bigger in bboying. how can one know so much about the scene in 4 diff countries?

seriously, france is crazy, korea and japan are full of power, and usa bboys can boogie. i like it all, but man i get so sick of the powermoves.

u can tell he prob is either: asian pride, international, or just a kid. or all of the above.

  • tell flips B-Boy Optamis said wuzz good....i use 2 break w/ em...when he got famous he forgot about a nigga...lol...

  • My grandmother can do 12spins of 1990

  • my uncle can do headspin for 3 days long.

  • my breakdance teacher can do headspin for 7 mins long

  • grr, i thought this was a video of a guy flipping while break dancing...

  • LMPO BAM!

    aaanyway

Flipz is fucking dope as hell enough said

  • I met Flipz back when I first started dancing, way back in the day (like '00 or '01). I come in to this church and this guy is doing effortless headspins (toe touches etc.) he was like liquid Jesus. to Iloveantm it's not how many, but how good your spins are.

  • "liquid jesus" lol omg, ive never heard that one before...lol

  • Eh, I've seen longer head spins.

  • ive seen other countrys and they know more breakdanceing better then america thats how much bboying is behind. and just to show america isnt the best just cause they invented bboyin so dont be cocky about it. Just go see planet bboy at ur theater. they tell that america isnt really into bboying that often and why and as other countrys like france korea japan are soo into it.

  • I can understand why people gave you thumbs down... because it's hard to hear the truth. You're so right dude and I hate it. Somebody actually liked "hip hop" dancing better than bboying? ...as in that group dance that is mostly for females and makes most guys look all feminine? I wish there was something I could do to bring back the respect bboying deserves but unfortunately it's things like that which just make me lose all faith in Americans. My fellow Americans are media sheep.

  • No man, America is less in to bboying as far as the general non-breaking public, everyday American is concerned. But as for the actual bboys of America who are a part of bboy culture, they are some of the most involved and American bboy events are some of the most that are closest to the roots, and atmosphere of how everything was done.

Come on man, the only knowledge you have on bboying is one movie and you talk now like

  • you're an expert? Do you even go to bboy events in person or are you just watching youtube videos about it?

I go to events, both in America where I'm from, and in Korea where I live now, and practiced with both. Korea is better at having more powermovers, but America's bboy events are the most true to hip hop culture and what bboying was originally about. I

  • can tell you EXACTLY where bboying started, the exact address and who started ALL of hip hop basically, could you do that for me? I'm guessing you can't, so stop talking like you're an expert. You're not a bboy, you're just an eboy that watches videos.

And you made a big mistake, by calling it "breakdancing." It's bboying, "breakdancing" is the name created not by bboys, but by Hollywood and mainstream media, to make a catchy name to sell movie tickets.

  • And thats right ,

    Amen

  • iT IS way in the past. my friend saw me breaking once. and he said he liked hiphop danceing better. and i was like wtf?? breakdanceing is hiphop. and i saw a comment once it said bboying vs hiphop;elements of graphity and that crap and i was like omg wtf? also because bboying is A ELEMENT OF Hiphop. and when i said bboying noone even knew what the hell it was. so yeah bboying is really in the past. and america hasnt won any bboying events iNTERNATIONALY.

  • Stop calling it breakdancing idiot.

  • it's breakdancing, tell me is it lonenly up there on that high horse? You gotta understand people are gonna call it whatever thay want regardless of haw hard and popmpous you are on YOUTUBE of all places. Keep frontin kid...you'll learn one day when you become an OG that nothing matters. Fuck The Labels.

  • Dude, you're three years older than me, and you're saying you're an OG and that I'm a kid?

Now that's fronting, to be an OG in the hip hop game and bboying, you have to at least be 40.

And as for ALL of the OGs who are bboys, and were there when bboying started in 73, ALL of them call it bboying and agree "breakdancing" is a misconstrued media package term to

  • coin label something for more money and marketing. Since they are all OGs and say this, and you're not anywhere near an OG let alone not even sure you're a bboy, you are wrong in so many ways.

I don't like stereotyping, you're saying to forget labels. But look at it logically. The problem with labels, is not the labels themselves, but

  • when one traps someone in that label. When you label someone as being stupid or irrelevant because of a labeled ethnicity, one is being racist, this is wrong. But the reason is wrong, is because people are associating stereotypes behind that label's meaning.

So the problem here is, is that when people

  • think "breakdancing," because that term was made by the media to mean a circus clown that spins on his head while eating a candy bar, and not really dancing, that term was made to mean a negative fad stereotype by the media. Thus why that label is negative, so I agree, don't use that label. But you're saying, forget labels, but it's okay to call it breakdancing, that doesn't make sense.

  • That's like me saying I don't care if someone calls me a rapist, because "I don't care about names and labels." No, I would and you would be offended by that, because you don't want to be labelled something you're not.

It was called "going off" and later "bboying," when it started in the 70's. It wasn't until around the early 80's, that when television caught hold of this dance, they labeled it

  • "breakdancing," because it was a catchier name and would never show the dancing to the music, but only small scenes of them flipping, or spinning on their backs. Thus because of the editing, they were made to look like urban gymnasts, and not real dancers to who related to music.

  • You're wrong about the original name, you're wrong about being an OG which you're not, you're wrong about not caring about labels because if someone called you a bad name, I guarantee you would be offended by it, because you know what that label means. "Breakdancing" to bboys is an offensive label, so it does matter.

  • Took me around 6 mins to type this out to you, so no you can't bust out an ad hominem fallacy after this to say I spend too much of my time writing to you as an excuse for you being proven illogical in your statements.

  • You know what man, after that explosion I just put on you, I have to say sorry for being so harsh, I should've stated my points with more tact.

  • I said to myself "What's up with this dude?" Sounds like he's got some knowledge but can he dance? Dude got some serious wisdom and moves. I respect that. As long as your not a fanatic - Don't let up. Don't see too many cats like you on the scene.

  • DAMN! he mustve broke his neck 30 times over to do that

  • i love the clip but what elements of hip hop have been forgotten? I mean really it seems like it is still in the mainstream. It ain't like it is way in the past like motown.

  • Its been a long time since I've done that...

  • I CANT DO THAT

  • i Can Do That XD

  • when was this taped? thats my schools its beinging taped at? well was my school

  • You know what it is that orlando florida! 2nd to comment
