@davecainbaby na man cause viking flips and flat spins are easy to mix up but if you watch carfull watch the vid VIKING FLIP and its got takeshi showing you a flat spin then he does a viking flip and it slows the vkiking flip down and you can kinda just about tell the difference in a viking flip and a flat spin but he wouldnt land fakie out of it cause that means hed had to spin as well

@agressiveinliner +1. A flatspin looks like a backflip that's been tipped over to the side. The viking flip looks like a cartwheel..sorta. If you were standing straight up, and you did a flatspin, your axis of rotation would be at your hips. If you were doing a viking flip, your rotational axis would be at your belly button. Kinda like how misty flips and 540 bios look the same to the untrained eye.

@oneone1onezero0 dude i can flat spin my self a backflip off axis is called an off axis backflip kind of says it in the name if you didnt realise man.. every rotation is actually in your head aswell if you also think of that where your head goes your going cause you cant do a 180 with your head and 360 with your body.. i spend alot of my skating days just doing all different type of flips and a viking flip isnt a cartwheel

viking flip, and to be honest again, hes doing it wrong is just a backflip 180 landing forward with a huge grap in the middle with both legs. what hes doing is more on the flat spin side but he has got the huge grab. the crazy part about it is, hes doing a double viking flip. its damn near impossible and you have to have sooooo much air time. either way its about the grab in his case.

hey, ive skated vert. And i can do backflips above coping and grind the rail. Once you get above that copings its scary as shit. you have you cant push off the coping one bit and you have to stay CLOSE, and i MEAN CLOSE to the ramp. So to go 10feet above coping and do 2 flips which i thought was impossible until i seen this the first time is amazing. I respect people who just jump above the coping. It took me 4 monts to do a 360 backflip and i kept hitting my hip on flatbottom

i didnt wiki anything. I knew who the skater was before the japanese skaters actually came along. Ive been watching skating since 94 days, arlo, tyler shields, nikki adams and rene. if you can be any more an idiot. He didnt name the trick. Another old vert skate they called the viking named the trick cause that what he did on vert. We are talking early 90's. He just stole the flip and perfected it. but the guy who named it did a nice grab though. And he could skate the ramp with both skates pointing oppisite directions and still land flips like that. Truly an intresting skater.
