I started out using a Savage 20 gauge single shot when i was in grammar school--good gun to start out with. Did a lot of sqirrel hunting with it. Now I wanna get this savage 22LR bolt action. Looks like this gun would last me for life.
I love mine! I have put 15,000 rounds through mine over the past 2yrs. Its still just as accurate as the day I bought it. I've painted it too many times to count in FDE, OD and several camo patterns and I only clean it once every 2-3 months. Runs great. Im gonna shoot this one till it cant shoot any more then Im gonna buy another one! lol..nice vid man.
@HAYDZREEF Like I told another Youtube hoe (lol) I have a mag. I just (at the time) preferred to not use it. If you'll look closely though, you will see it in use in the first clip.
if its a single shot why would you call it a bolt action a example of bolt action would be shoot cock shoot cock shoot cock for 5 or however many rounds it takes in the chamber or magazine
i already have a bunch of .22's have a rossi, wnchester ,10/22,ruger mk2, but there all semi auto or single shot and i dont have any bolt action weapon and i want one and i love the .22 round i love everything about them...should i get another one?
Using this gun with CCI .22 Speed rounds, the can won't do that, it will blow up. Lol. I've done this same thing, but the can flew up into the air when I hit it and, well, basically, blew up.
Nice vid dude, I have this rifle and I love it. It is some of the most fun you can have all day with 1 $10 box of ammo. I am thinking about buying their model 64 semi today. It is on super sale and will only cost me $60 bucks out the door! Which is half of what I paid for the Mark II. Enjoy your rifle for a long time!
It's raining today, so I can't go out and shoot mine. Those Mark IIs have a hell of kick for a .22 When I shoot a rabbit or feral cat, it usually goes down and stays down.
dude cmon that gun looks like shit you gotta get her in realtree camo and slapped a huge barska scope on there. Fuckin plastic brown stock with open sights...good lord
So it's not a pellet gun is it? like if i shot you in the chest with that theres a good chance of death right?...i want one lol...just making sure it can entertain and protect me
@Ghostofgrace92 True, It's not a pellet gun. 22 rounds are very small and have low power too, but it is very possible for it to kill someone. If you want a gun for mostly protection I would suggest getting a higher caliber round, maybe a 45 acp (much more powerful) or even a 12 gauge shotgun.
@adamclark94 The bolt is supposed to slide back when you pull it back..... And of course every kid thinks that their dads gun is the best in the world! I have one of these savage mkII's and it cost $120. You're not looking for Anschutz quality when you buy a $120 .22
@seegerts15 Yes it is a real weapon. -_- Yeah this is the video. And yeah I couldn't believe this simple video would become popular enough to get youtubes attention either... Hmm, wonder how much money they would pay you for partnership. :s Meh, becoming a youtube partner is pure evil. Annoying the piss outta people with adds. >.>
@heathenscross Just so you know, a .22 CAN drill through your skull, and rattle inside, piercing every inch of your brain and turning it into a bloody mush. Not to mention, .22's have range. So somebody could pop a quick headshot off at you no problem from any range. Next time you think a firearm's weak, think of how many ways you could get killed by it. And trust me, there're tons.
mine is a Savage/Stevens i forget what model because its not right here with me, its at my father's home. but it is basically the same thing as this, just a grey stock instead of the black. 10 round magazine, bolt action, 2 position safety, but i have a 3-9X43 simmons scope on it.
@Pilotsofer unless you're using a suppressor, you should always wear hearing protection when using firearms. whether its a .22 short, or a .50BMG, hearing damage is cumulative, a 22short will put put 100+db which over time will damage ur hearing.
When doing as much shooting as this guy had been doing, it was probably a pain in the ass to remove magazine, reload, and slap it in the well. One at a time is actually more efficient in the end.
@poobert That's funny... it takes me about 5-7 seconds to load 10 rounds in my Mark II mags, 2 seconds to change mags, & about a half second to open & close the bolt to eject spent cartridge & load next bullet... there's no possible way loading one at a time is more efficient, not when he's taking about 5 seconds to eject brass, load round, & close bolt. Of course, at 1:48 I hear mention "shorts" which would have to be loaded one at a time because the rifle is not designed for shorts in the mag
@chaosdsm if you load rounds in your magazine at the same rate per, you end up wasting the time putting the mag in/out. the rate at which you load your mags would be equal to how much you can slip them in the chamber 1 by 1. You might be able to beat him loading mags while he slips em in 1 by 1, but you wont beat yourself. if ya know what i mean jelly bean!! =P
It does, in fact have a magazine. And I was using the magazine more than half the time we where out there. As a matter of fact, you can see that I have the mag in the gun at the first of this video. 0:06
Well it depends, the ruger 10/22 is a semi-auto meaning after you fire a round it loads the next one in and you can fire again until there is no ammo left, the savage is a bolt action meaning you must cycle the bolt to load the rifle. Bolt actions are good for hunting and if you just want to plink and have a ball then get a 10/22, you do realize the 10/22 is about $250 new and a savage is about $100 right?
Well here a ruher and a savage are about the same price(Canada) My cousin has a ruger and it looks nice feels nice and i love semi-automatic shooting,The savage is looks awesome and again feels good, i heard good things about the ruger and good things about the savage so yeah im twisted

its not legal in most states but it can kill them. i dont see why you would want to use a .22 though when you could use a shotgun or a high power rifle and take the deer out quicker and with more accuracy.
