    You're welcome =)

  • Defying Gravity!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wicked was amazing.

  • When I saw this play yesterday, I fell in love completely. :') And the end of it was a shock.

If you haven't seen this, you're silly. IT'S AMAZING.

  • So, this is the same person who can't allow any amount of water to land on her right?

  • And now I hate Dorothy ;)

  • @88FireFairy I hated her before lol. She was always kind of annoying

  • @tbarry1303 Yeah a bit, haha :) Now that I know the back story to Elphaba, it's seriously impossible to hate her.

  • its the best play ever!

  • if u havent seen the play or not planing on going than poop you!

  • @audreyGleo I haven't seen it, but I've listened to a couple of songs, and I like the music, but I prefer "The Wizard of Oz".

  • This show just destroys the Wizard of Oz forever.

  • If somebody wants a prime example of belting, point them to this, especially from 5:30 onward. :D

  • There will never be two actresses better suited for Elphaba and Galinda/Glinda than Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel. There's just too much talent.

  • @StillDaddysPrincess

You should see rachel tucker as elphaba

  • This song makes me hate everyone in the wizard of oz for killing the Wicked witch of the west!!!

  • @MrSprite69 Have you seen the show and the happy ending at the end? I felt the same way until towards the ends when the twist was revealed.

  • @shazzqsong Yeah i have, i mean to say that this song makes me hate the movie "The Wizard of Oz" i like Wicked so much better lol and lets face it, Wicked is alot more easy to believe then the movie.

  • i went to see the musical today. in des moines. HOLY SHAFT IT WAS SOOOOOO COOL. I recommend the musical to be seen by anyone. I cried at the end of defying gravity. :)

  • just amazing

  • 5:27 gives me chills every time <3

  • I'm going to see this soon - but GOD I'll be sad that it won't be them singing.

  • 3 people couldn't defy gravity

  • I'm going to the dutch version of Wicked, but i know when they are singing this song i'm going to compare it to the originail, which isn't really fair, because no version can compare too this. NEVER.

  • i think id feint if i saw this in real life its the only thing in my whole life that has made me speechless, and i'm only talking about this song not the whole play

i don't know how anyone could say this is anything other than truly epic

  • I don't think you own the song. Maybe a copy of it?

  • I disliked it....cuz I wanted t be different

  • @MerryFabalaFaeWaka :) Most people are when they hear that. Its my ultimate brag when I'm with theater people.

    :)

  • i love WICKED

  • i love this song so much it's the best song in the whole musical

  • anyone else think idina and lea michelle looks alot alike

  • @TomaMiAmore1991 That is probably why they made Idina Lea Michelle's mother on Glee.

  • @HotaruAerith yeah i know lol

  • I just bought the book, i really wanna see the musical

  • @TheStephMyster you really should see the musical! Its worth going all around the country for! AMAZING!!!!!!!!1

  • @rtinny987 I live in Britain :(

    Books amazing though

  • awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love Defying Gravity! My favourite song! <3

  • i saw this musical in Holy Wood a couple of years ago and i was so captivated by this musical especially this song and the whole special stage effects! .....i REALLY need to see it again !!

  • I'm determined to be on Broadway one day :D ( Random )

  • @ThePrimpGirl I've been on Broadway........Street...

  • @krazyknoxy Haha I meant in New York :) Like on stage ;D

  • @ThePrimpGirl I've seen a Broadway stage...

  • @krazyknoxy Me too :D I've seen soooo many shows, its great ^.^

  • @ThePrimpGirl I've only seen one, and it was amazing.

  • how do you "own song'?

  • YAY WICKED DOES ANYONE KNOW IF U CAN BUY IT OR WHAT

  • @jellybean2423 i think its still being sold i bought it about 7 years ago

  • @punksush1 where can u tell me

  • that 1 dislike...I hope your happy!!!

  • You and Me But Mostly ME!!!

  • <3 Wicked. I saw it twice in two months, the last time in December. I will never stop having cravings for the soundtrack.

  • @MsMerb96

Twice in two months...in the same year...I AM SO ENVIOUS!

  • ironic. "nobody in all of oz, no wizard that there is or was is ever goona bring me down." Dorothy was from Kansas XD

  • @sketchfreak1 but Elphaba didn't really die...she just escaped and the melting thing was just a show...

  • @sketchfreak1 hahahahaha!!!

  • They both have beautiful voices!

  • Brilliant Song

  • so pretty!

  • AMAZING!

  • I've known Glee longer than Wicked but I still think this version of Defying Gravity is better!

  • 1 person isn't happy right now..........that person will never defy gravity

  • I can't believe they didn't edit out Idina's gasp for air at 4:48

  • @WickedMusicalBuffalo Whenever I listen to recordings of musicals, and I hear their voices crack in some emotional part or hear them gasp, it gives me a sense of realism, so I actually prefer them to total autotune robotics.

  • @WickedMusicalBuffalo

maybe it was for dramatic effect? i dont know haha

  • @WickedMusicalBuffalo oMG! i just noticed that :) lol

  • Thumbs up if Kristin and Idina SHOULD be in the Wicked movie, because they are not too old!

  • @georgiaherdman2009. Sorry, once you have played the Wicked Queen in a Disney movie, you are too old to play a schoolgirl

  • @Benjamin1986980 aash?!

  • @georgiaherdman2009 Rachel Tucker and Louise Dearman should be in it... I saw them the other night and they were spectacular.

  • @titanium53 Im sure they were, i saw Rachel on Dancing on Ice singing this song. But its the fact that Kristin and Idina were the originals and "gave birth" to the roles :) haha.

  • @georgiaherdman2009 I saw both of them when they were performing in Toronto. It was A.MAZE.ING. I've never heard someone's voice fill a room like Idina Menzel's. Corner to corner, floor to ceiling, it's all you hear, all you feel... it's unreal.

  • @georgiaherdman2009 I mean, hell, even if they are, technology is so advanced nowadays, f people really have an issue with it they can always make them look younger. I don't understand why people think that others need to play these roles. They are meant for Idina and Kristin!

  • @Lizi1243 I know!!! IDINA AND KRISTIN THE ORIGINALS! and woow i didnt think i would get 181 thumbs up for my other comment. aha

  • @georgiaherdman2009 HELL YES!

  • Together we're unlimited... (but mostly me)

  • 1 person will not be defying gravity anytime soon (let's hope there aren't anymore HATERS!!!!!!!!!!!!)

  • Why can't we just enjoy music without stooping to the level of kinder-gardeners and arguing about who did it better...

  • I saw this in Vancouver, too.

  • I saw this in Vancouver :D

  • one person cant defy gravity :D

  • @16izzie1 Because they can't appreciate true poetry and song.

  • the first time i saw this in the theater, i cried

  • I thought the song writer wrote the song. copywright!

  • One person won't defying gravity !

  • Wicked at the West end was absolutely incredible. I went a tourist and returned a beleiver!

  • 4:35 for ear-orgasm.

  • I love Glee, and they sang the song in their own way, but I love the original so much more. I guess that's because it suits Wicked. It has that magical touch which you need in a musical with witches. Glee's version just suits Glee.

  • Ok, if one more person says they like the Glee version better without seeing Wicked on broadway first i swear i'm going to lose it!

  • This song lifts me up everytime i hear it!!

  • Something about that last bit just gives me a chill <3

  • im in love with idina's voice... no homo

  • This song is unbelievably beautiful. Every emotion is displayed in such a sincere, real way. Even better live.

  • SAW IT! SO GOOD!

  • @dancelovelaught I Am sooo jealous, I really want to see it in london.

  • I love this song so much... It's crazy! I listen to it everyday an I know all the words and I can't stop thinking about it. The song makes me really emotional. :') ♥

  • i love this song :)xxx

  • this song better be in the movie verision, its to good to leave out.

  • @1megasnorlax1 this is the most strong song of the whole musical, I can hardly see a Wicked movie without this song! I don't think they would leave it out (unless they're planning on making a movie without any of the songs, 'cause that would suck)

  • @evilshoemaker I was under the impression the movie was of the book, which wouldn't require the songs.

  • Who was the retard who pressed the dislike button

  • @darrensak i love how he is the ONLY guy who disliked it! douche bag..... lmao

  • @darrensak Now there's two of them :D

  • loveeeee it!!!!! if i was a bird i would churp this all day so it would be stuck in someones head!

  • this is a great song to listen to while you're in an airplane

  • Gravity, its the law dude and dudets!

  • Obey gravity, it's the law!!

  • ok, seriously? people get mad if you like the glee and they're like "oh the original is better, blah blah..." but if you say you like the original better they flip out and think you're saying glee sucks

    seriously? just STFU!

  • I think this is the best rendition of this musical. The book is wonderful. These two work so well together! I just wish it wasn't just a Broadway musical, i wish it was filmed for dvd's!!!!

  • i love the guitar rifts in the beginning

  • That's why I'll never like Glee: a bounch of songs taken from great musicals, all wrost than the original.

    PS. Fraking love Wicked!

  • @dec5952 The autotune does give Glee a nice effect doesn't it?

  • @lufflyness glee doesn't use autotune. they can actually sing. nothing will never compare to the original except if it exceeds them such as friday and baby and somebody to love (the justin beiber one) but this will never be exceeded

  • @twihardrule

Glee does use autotune on a number of occasions.

  • @KrazyK923 but most of the time they don't. i mean have you heard them sing live? it is amazing! my sister sold my tickets to their minneapolis show for shoes. but i am going to go see wicked once i can get the tickets.

  • @twihardrule

Yes...the actress who plays Tina Cohen Chang isn't that great, and Cory Monteith is average at best. It's fine, I love the show, but I'm also realistic. There are some songs you can tell have major autotuning.

  • @KrazyK923 may i just say that jenna ushkowitz is a great singer. way better than cory monteith is. but they were cast as average singers. not people like rachel berry or kurt hummel. they probably did use auto tuning on some songs but some songs are just rather hard to sing. i mean the guy who plays mike chang can't sing but he's a fantastic dancer. some people are just average singers some are amazing and some suck. like me i suck. but i still sing when i think no ones watching.

  • @twihardrule

I didn't say there was anything wrong with people using autotune or whatnot. I simply said that it's not factually true that they do not use Autotune.

And I dont know about Jenna Ushkowitz, I heard her sing at the White House and she was pretty awful.

  • @KrazyK923 okay then think what you want i like her. she sings great live. much better than some people *cough* black eyed peas *cough*. she did an amazing job at the white house. have you listened to the original of true colors?

  • @twihardrule

Yes, and she was flat and sharp at many places in the song.

Don't get me wrong, like I said earlier, I am a huge fan of Glee, but people who are brainless fans and just suck up whatever anybody does as absolutely amazing does a disservice to the show and the artist themselves. It's up to us as fans to push them to become better.

  • @lufflyness Best comment ever XD

  • @lufflyness i can honestly say that after watching a glee concert, that they DEFINITELY don't use autotune. Those kids are amazing singers but they still have NOTHING on the original.

  • @Rawrceo They still use autotune for the show. They admit it. But autotune is the cool thing to do these days.

  • @JordanKerk99 Well, everything that's not live always uses autotune. But, in concert's, there's none.

  • @lufflyness how can you compare 2 versions , both complety different

  • @dec5952 Hey, I'm not saying that Glee sucks, neither that it's songs do. I just prefer the musicals that make their own songs. Glee is a not bad show, still, becouse of this fact, it's not not my kind of show, and I don't think it'll ever be. You can like it, I don't see why my opinion shuold stop ya'

  • @lollobello haha Idina Menzel was on Glee..and Kristin..if they support glee and are from the very musicals they sang..why shouldnt u like glee? They dnt care they took songs lol

  • @JBCTBL Again, I'm not saying that Glee sucks, neither that it's songs do. I prefer this version on the Glee's one, and that's MY OPINION: it doesn't mean that the original must be better than the cover, it is in my eyes, but that is me and only me. I knew about Menzel in Glee, and so? I can't say that I don't like a cover just cuz the original singer approved the cover itself? Glee is not my kind of musical, I've seen it and I didn't like it. What's wrong with that?

  • @lollobello Nothin wrong with that! Everyone is entitled to thier own opinion!! It just sounded like you disapproved that they take the songs in the first place and i only said if the people singing the original songs dnt mind they took it why should fans..that all :]]

  • @JBCTBL Then is ok. And I apologize if I've sound kinda angry in my comment. To tell you the trouth I didn't mind and even liked some of Glee songs, but still I always liked better the originals over the series's covers, and so I'll probably never gonna truly like it. Thanks for explaning yourself, and for let me explain myself :)

  • @lollobello The producers and actors all say that they take songs to introduce the brilliant music thats out there. And to help the storyline. It may not be better but they are showing our generation new music, new styles and the brilliance of musicals and songs from different genres and times.

  • Oh my, holy crap fricking heck! OH MY DAYS how on earth could someone be so god damn flipping amazing I heard her live and apsolutely fell in love with Idina she is beyond amazing! I cannot stop listening to this song I get goosebumps ahahahhahaah :L

  • 1 person broke the replay button.

  • my goodness , i saw this play in the orphean theater , and it was amzing , i love her voice , this song always cheers me up , <3

  • amazing show. <3 idina

  • 1 person dosent know what good music is. :O

  • i LOVED kurts version of this song so much! but i like this one better for some reason? the background music is so much more detailed, plus her voice is just MAGIC. :)

  • This song makes me wanna get up... And like, run a marathon. Or climb Everest. Do something awesome, whatever. It makes my heart want to burst. LOVE!

  • Most powerful song on this soundtrack! Wonderful!

  • I saw Wicked in Toronto in November and this song made me teary eyed!

  • That one person tried to defy gravity and totally face planted the ground and now has a broken nose. :)

we can all defy gravity though :D

  • @Musicispeaceful I think we all know that one dislike was an accident. ;)

    Wicked is awesome. Enough said.

  • i think this play came here before...but i didnt go see it because i wasnt interested.

if only id known about this before, i wouldve gone to see it!

  • Idina Menzel's voice is kinda nasaly. I saw this play in London and it was really good, I think helped along because of the British accent

  • @underarmour64243 she has a british accent? i couldn't tell from this song or when she was on glee

  • @DrBraids i dont think she does and the nasally makes it so unique i love it

  • @DrBraids oh no haha. the british actress who played her part had a british accent

  • 1 person can't defy gravity~ ^_________^"

  • I just saw this play last night for the first time...

omg!!!! I started to tear up during this song, it was my favorite going into the play and it's still my favorite, hearing it live for the first time was...better than any drug!!

  • 1 person can be pulled down <(")

  • @tacaiazza96

I love this more because of the penguin...it's my favorite thing to make!!!!!

    <(")

  • i've seen it twice live. i would kill to see it again. i get chills so many times throughout it. i'd amazing. we're playing some of the songs for my school concert band, and i sing it in my head the whole time. it's great :) <3

  • I cry soooooooooooooo much. .

  • i cried at the end of wicked..

    <3

  • Wicked Is Wicked .....

  • I luv wicked i luv all the songs especialy what is this feeling

  • Went and saw the touring show last night in Kalamazoo. This is the 1st "professional" show that I have seen, so I am no expert, but I am glad it was my 1st. It was AWESOME!!!!!!! I am a tough critic of musicals, I think sometimes they are too cheesey, but this was not the case. I would tell anyone to see this show. I have heard the Idina Mendez (New York cast) sing this, but I actually think Vicki Noon's (touring cast) performance beat it. That lady has some pipes!

  • @scoochie92 I was there too! Vicki Noon was FLAWLESS. Such a good show. I can't wait for it to come around again!

  • Comment removed

  • Wicked is AMAZING. I LOVE IT! <3

  • When Glinda (at the end) yells, "I hope you're happy!", it just makes my skin crawl. This play brought up sooo many emotions. xD
