Been there and it sucks. Used to sing in a band and when I was sick and couldn't get the notes out it was hell. So many pop artists would not have this problem because they lip sync but props to Gary and other country artists for being above that.

2:37 and 2:42 were subtle, professional cues. He pointed to his mouth first, then just a small hand cue. At around 3:30, it was much less subtle! It was the HELP point! Lol. I have been in that spot. Not a fun place. He did an amazing job considering he was ill AND sang great on the opener. Probably overdid it on that one. Blew out what he had saved up for this one.

You people need to understand something. There are 2 kinds of bands: studio bands, and REAL bands. Rascal Flatts is a studio band. Live performances are a joke. However they sell millions of albums. Antares Autotune people. This is the singular tool that makes this bozo Gary millions every year. Not many can survive without it, and this show is the proof in the pudding. Think there is any major studio in the WORLD not using it? Guess again. I envy the days when we had REAL talent on the radios.

wow you dont even know half of it they are a great band live and on the radio, gary was sick. jay from the band said that they practice in backstage and it sounded great but he practiced to hard and his voice got the best of him, he didnt want to let the fans down. dont even say anything till you see them in concert because they sound exactly like the radio, so dont be judging on how they sound just because of one performance

I respect that you like him, and I love Rascal Flatts' songs, and if it was just this one performance that was bad I'd understand, but every preformance I have seen of them live they've sounded horrible, I think we need to accept that they are complete studio voices. This is not the 1st time they sucked up a live stand. They were on Jay Leno 1 yr. ago and totly off key and many other live stands. It makes me sick they win vocal group of the year. Trust me, they thank God everyday for auto tunner in the studio. I've heard many prof. and amitr. performers sing when they were sick, and never sounded that bad. If they didn't get piched good songs no one would know who this group is. Did I ment. they suck live.
