Though I fully support Paul's views, and he is correct about the constitution, I believe he is a false hope for those who want him elected, as a means of fixing things. If he actually tried to do what he says, it would be political suicide and potentially actual suicide. Political because he would be at the helm during the crash and burn, and actual as money interests with a great deal of power would not tolerate his trying to take them down. Just talking probabilities here.

@Monkeynutzmorandum next summer is the most likely time it will collapse, you can still get a considerable size store of food and other things, cosco has some great canned products that can last a long ass time, just get twice you normally get in non-parishable items, it'll seem like you're wasting money, but it's saving money in the long term, and GET A GUN even a little ruger 10/22 is far superior than having no defense at all, and get a box of ammo every week, it'll start to grow.

@Monkeynutzmorandum I am prepared, with 4 years of food for 8 people (we have 5 people in our family, we have to stick together in hyperinflation) and 100,000 rounds of .22 for hunting, trading and defense, 1,000 shotshells (1,000 each of #4 and slugs) and enough .308 to make chuck norris drool, and we didn't bulk buy them at once, we bought everything we have over time, buying 2 times as much as you use. you'lll have cache's soon enough (plus 30% of my paycheck goes towards silver.)
