Insanitarium IS NOT a zombie movie in the slightest. It was about a bunch of crazy bastards in a nuthouse that are injected with some kind of drug that makes them a hell of a lot more crazier, and sends them on a murderous rampage. They weren't dead/undead or anything. They were homicidal and insane.

While these are admittedly good zombie movies, they are NOT produced or released in 2010. The title is misleading. When hard core zombie movie fans search with that particular title, it's likely that they're lookin for new unseen zombie movies at the very least in final production stages..

a few of the movies on this list are shit. the only good evil dead movie was army of darkness. they figured out that they sucked at horror and made a comedy. the 04 version of dawn of the dead is shit. As for RE 4, well the scariest thing about that is how bad they fucked up. 4 fucking years RE fans waited for it and it brought nothing to the table much less concidering the wait for it.

@gettingpissedoff Watch Dead Set Mini Series, it's actually really good. I highly recommend watching it, it's a suprisingly good zombie series but has a really bleak outlook on the whole thing if you're looking for a zom/com. It is geniunely scary in some places and the gore is done pretty well. I'd say much better than the standard zombie genre directors seem to be shitting out today.

I don’t consider 28 days later, nor the sequel, a zombie movie because it’s based on the premise that the people infected with the rage are still alive. Therefore …NOT the living dead.

@massholejeff there not dead... they dont say there dead at any point in the film. they are simply infected with rage, which was a form a rabies, which they got from infected experimental monkies. they are covered in blood so they look dead but at the end, if they were zombies, they wouldnt have been starving to death.

My question is when then does everyone including other film makers consider it a zombie flick? Why did people compare the remake of Dawn of the Dead to it if they are not zombies? Their hearts always stop beatin and for most zombies you have to destroy the brain to kill them, exept for night of the livin dead films, they keep kickin no mater what you do. Hmmm? Night of the living dead? They always shoot em in the head! I think most every "zombie" flick from various companies, producers differ. I like Romero's verisons the best, just not all the recent films too much.

And, actually what got the zombies killing in all the dead films (dawn of the dead, night of the living dead) was a virus from outterspace ... whooooooow. Haha. SO 28 days laters virus people can be called zombies!

Resident Evil was a virus as well but it doesn’t matter how it happens, if they die and then come back to life, they are zombies. They HAVE to die though. Even in the Living Dead series, although they never lost consciousness, their hearts stopped and rigor mortis set in. Zombies don’t need sustenance to survive but they crave the flesh anyway. Rage was a virus that infected people without killing them, ...

I hear ya BUT ... the zombies needed substance. For example human flesh. Zombies eat flesh! And, theres pleanty of zombie movies where shooting them in the head isn't the only way to kill a zombie. Zombies have many meanings and many films. By simply saying because 13 days later differed from "some" other zombie flicks doesn't mean they weren't zombies! I always based a zombie after films like "Night of the living dead" "Dawn of the Dead" etc. They died and came to life. I guess a person could die from being rabid and come back??? Confusing!!! LOL

Dawn Of The Dead (remake) is one of my favorite films of all time, PERIOD! The perfect movie. I love the beginning with johnny cash. I love the way it ends. I love everything in between.

Another great zombie movie is Return of the Living Dead. I really great 1985 movie that's aged really well. Scared the shit out of me as a kid and then as I grew up I realized it was actually kind of a comedy movie.
