this guy was the best closer in the NL when he was initially with arizona. he closed out 36 games out of 42 games with 8-3 record. 2.04 ERA is pretty impressive. he pitched an immaculate inning (30 something'th pitcher ever to do that). the year they won world series, in NLCS against braves, he saved a game after going up with bases loaded, no outs in 8th inning. for him to pitch like that again, he needs to stay healthy, not only physically but mentally. he was 10-8 last season as a starter.
actually when he played for the Red Sox in 2003, he really wasn't all that bad, but he was more of a disappointment to the red sox nation since he was one of the NL top closers in the years before, maintaining a career era of about somewhere in between 2.70 and 3.20 (i can't remmeber the exact numbers) at such a young age (24 or so at the time). i sincearly dont know why people flipped him off in the post season since he was the closer when they clinched game 5 of the ALDS against the A's
He was one of the biggest busts in the history of baseball. He started off great with Arizona, but blew up big time in the playoffs and never got over that. He became a circuis act on the field, and his numbers gradually got worse and worse. Some team had the brilliant idea of making him a starter, and he didn't improve. Now, nobody wants him.
Wow, this guy was awful when he was on the Red Sox. I remember when Fenway booed him as he entered into a playoff game, and he gave everybody the middle finger.
he was an asshole, just like every other Korean
