  • so this is only necessary if your CEL is on? About a year and half ago. My CEL and Check Gearbox were on, 2 months later they went away. Haven't come back since. lol

  • Thanks, followed instructions and all is well, have to disconnect the battery which cleared the service nag as well! so dashboard doesn't look like blackpool / coney island any more ie no more lights,

    Fooled two local garages.

  • Is there a way to completely remove the possibility of the 'Limp Home Mode' activating? Upgraded throttle body perhaps? :D

  • Thank you! You are an Angel. Just want to mention to everyone, If your check engine light is already on you will have to pull the cord to the battery to reset your car before restarting, or else your car will go right back into Limp home mode.

  • when and why would it go into "limp home mode?"

  • when you get a CEL. your ECU stores codes. Certain codes trigger limp home mode.
