The 'what's in your pocket' idea was dumb, but you folks did a great job trying to do something with it. Making a joke out of it was really the way to go.
For a contest that's supposed to reward creativity, I have no idea why you guys won anything, letalone best picture. You came up with the number one short film cliche and executed it in a crass and tiresome manner, while all other groups -- who undoubtedly had the same idea at first and decided it was too lame -- went on to do creative things. I don't know what the judges were smoking.
You are a fucking asshole. What are you trying to prove? Have you ever heard "There's nothing new under the sun?" These guys worked under the gun to do not necessarily something incredibly creative, but they did something proven with a slightly new twist. Not every short film needs to be a fucking Mulholland Dr.
millionairewaltz was just upset that this film tied for the Best Film prize that year. I never made claim that our entry was any good... it was just a fun challenge, which I believe was the point of the festival. Or perhaps to make a truly terrible film in the spirit of Mr. Wood? Either way, I hope life finds you a much happier person these days than fuming about a nothing contest, millionairewaltz.
