@FIDTRO BMW was using Harman/Kardon before, which were very good at the time. Audi is implementing the cheapest Bang & Olufsen components, I know because I have seen them taken out and have heard them perform. They have nothing to do with the aftermarket Bang & Olufsen you can buy in a specialized brand store. I hope BMW is not doing the same.

@dan9rocks Actually it is a Danish accent - and a poor one indeed. The german guys are all talking german with overdubs, which would probably have been a better solution all around.

It would have been lovely if BMW was just a little bit more generous and offered this sound system on the awesome 5 Series. I bought one, and sadly it does not have B&O.

Please BMW, just like Audi, offer this gorgeous sound system on your cheaper models, as BMW must always have the best in everything, and now sound is the only area where Audi is better than BMW!

I have driven one with the BO system. My opinion is it is a BMW and you don't want to stop driving it and this sound system makes it near impossible to get out of this car.

@radar3699 No, actually it was indeed Audi. The 2005 A8 was B&O's first foray into car audio. Having heard BMW's own DIRAC system, and the Mark Levinson, Dynaudio, B&W systems in competing marques, the A8's system is still the benchmark for boutique factory sound in my opinion. Porsche & Buggatti are the only other companies whose systems (Burmester) match or are close to the A8's in SQ in my opinion.
