This is the PSP Version. The GBA Version is not in widescreen. Also the psp version has higher resolution, as you can clearly see.

@weglarz I really don't understand it myself. People these days tend to judge a game by how it looks and not what it has to offer. Sure the game lacks in graphics compared to a PS3 or Xbox 360, but what it lacks in graphics it makes up for with a great storyline, and is easy to get into. Even FF fans these days care about the newer and somewhat newer ones, FFX and above. People need to stop dissing a game just because of how it looks, and instead, think about what the game has to offer overall.

@Leviathan2158 Yes but with the constant amount of remakes this game has spawned, it's really starting to show that it can't keep up with modern rpg's. Final Fantasy 1 is rpg story telling at it's most basic and the simple gameplay, random battles every 4 to 6 seconds, and tedious questing and wandering for hours will be harder for newcomers to enjoy. It's great to play for the nostalgia but it doesn't match the quality of a lot of games we have today. So graphics aren't the only thing to judge

@RayMaster32 I have both the original and this remake for PSP. Either one would do but if you're interested in a challenge, then I would recommend the original since the PSP remake is a bit easier. The PSP FF has a bonus dungeon though. But other than that the content is the same. I have beaten both now and even though the original is great, I still like the remake as much if not more since both the visual and audio upgrades. Finally, the 16x9 perspective makes it look a whole lot better.

I have a copy of the PSP version of Final Fantasy I myself. It is based on the GBA version. I bought it in December 2007. I prefer this version over the previous versions. It has the gameplay and bonus dungeons of the GBA version and the quality soundtrack of the Final Fantasy Origins version. Final Fantasy I is coming to iPhone, and that version will be based on the PSP version. The original version is buggy and has too primitive gameplay, and has poor English translation.

@KryPzo27 As far as FF1 goes, this is absolutely beautiful. The art style keeps getting better but has maintained the charm of the original. If you make it 3D you end up with the DS remakes of 3 and 4. I'll take this any day.

You can get FF1 for NES, Gameboy Advance, PSP, I think PC and mabye ipod touch if i remember right. Same game slightly diffrent looking on each, but its a downright classic no matter what way you go

its not a emulator its the psp port of final fantasy 1 and he's using remotejoy to display and record it on his computer but if u want a psp emulator on pc there's jpsp and pcsp but there really slow and don't look really good as they would look on the psp screen

The PSP version has been built upon the Game Boy Advance version of the game. It has bonus dungeons from the Gameboy/Wonderswan versions of the game but also features new improved graphics, all in 16:9 with easy to read big texts and better quality of music and general sounds. The CG intro from the PlayStation/Wonderswan version has also been redone in 16:9.

So its basically the gameboy version but with better graphics and sound.

PSP version is NOT the best, it contains only the easy version of the game, while the PS1 origins collection had an easy and hard mode of it.

Depends how you define "best." I believe the psp version is the newest and most improved with bonus dungeons. Origins has a hard mode. But I personally like the original
