I think I might have this. On the bright side, I was reading at a 12th grade level in 4th grade, and I once forgot to memorize an entire shakespeare speech until 15 minutes before I was supposed to deliver it. I pulled it out and memorized the whole thing, and still haven't forgotten it. On the other hand though, I'm a total incompetent idiot when it comes to relevant things. :(
Thank you for posting. One of my three kids has AS, my 8 year old son. He is a wonderful kid. It is difficult to balance a life like his in this world of conformity but I have hope. He has a wonderful aid in school. I just hope the world can get a better grasp of the potential in people with AS. It is to easy to name it a disorder or problem. I think of it primarily as a difference. The world must embrace diversity in all forms.
Remember that the risk of your son becoming bullied in school is huge, and I do mean HUGE. Also, asking him directly about it wont work. It's better to stalk him in a car with a hidden videocamera to find out the truth.
If he becomes a "snitch" the bullying will continue in other more subtle forms instead. School is an anarchistic hell for an AS child.
these people are awesome !!!

Ok... this video is a great video but the tags in the video confuse me.
This video is very positive about autism YET you put DAN in the tags... why.
As the video says, aspergers isn't something needing curing so make your mind up.
