I didn't hear any complaining when GM was cranking out SUV sales. They made plenty of money, and signed the contract with the UAW. However, a country that has a leader who can suggest the annihilation of an entire nation and race of people, is unstable and unpredictable. That's where the US stands, that's where all of the UN stands. Why would Iran want nuclear weapons if not to intimidate or possibly use them.
As it stands the US and many nations alike are working to elimenate there stockpiles.

The U.S. doesn't want Iran to have nukes because the U.S. and other nuclear weapon possessing countries do not really want any other countries have them unless they are staunch allies. It may actually do some good to have Iran threaten them against Israel. Why not? Israel does more than threaten another nation, i.e. Palestine. U.S. attempts to lower stockpiles are limited, the U.S. is upgrading them instead.

I personally believe that nobody should have them. But you want them in the hands of countries that sponser terrorist organizations such as Hamas and Hezbollah that use guerilla tacticts on innocent civilians. I can only question your motives and credibility.

My MOTIVES and CREDIBILITY, what are you talking about? I don't need to offer proof. The Western nations are not making any serious efforts to reduce stockpiles, where is your evidence. As I have said, they are making efforts to upgrade their nuclear capabilities. You only have to consider the nutcase SDI defence plan and British upgrade of Trident. I would rather see no country have nuclear weapons, but the United States has moral legitimacy to dictate to Iran whether it should...

It would be hypocrisy to claim that Iran shouldn't have nukes because of this. But like I said, at present Iran is developing nuclear power facilities, there is no conclusive proof that such facilities being built will be used to make weapons. It all smacks of hypocrisy.

The major fear is that Iran would allow some of those warheads to get in the hands of Hezbullah or Hamas, whom Iran has open support for.

Unlikely. Why would Iran go to the trouble of building a nuclear weapon capability to only them handed over and possibily risk Iran's existence in being discovered. Besides, it is not even been adequately determined if Iran is seeking weapons.

Obama hasn't been in office long enough to do a lot, whereas Bush has been around far too long. President Bush was seen to be a buffoon by many American citizens and certainly by cthe citizens of other nations. I would be happier to see no government with having anarchist views, but I think an democrat president is a slight improvement on a republican one. But we'll have to see how things pan out.

You should have voted libertarian. Our party recognizes the civil liberties that likely appealed to you when voting for the democrats but we are also more fiscally conservative than the republicans. I encourage you to visit the channel of shanklinmike and watch some videos about libertarian ideals.

I couldn't agree more with you. I really don't see any good that Obama has done. Sure, he hasn't been in office for long but he said so many promises for when he first takes office: "to end the war in Iraq," "to end the economy crisis," and I don't see that happening. Instead, he's sitting on his butt harping about the Constitution and making it legal to kill babies. What is wrong with this picture?

Thanks. I saw early on that he wasn't living up to his campaign promises. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure that out. He's weak on foreign policy, weak on the economy, weak on security. The people who still support him are stubbornly holding on because they aren't willing to admit that they made a mistake. I'll admit it. I made a big mistake voting for Obama. I'll never vote for him again.
