Gee, I'm terribly at inking. ._. And I've been drawing manga since I was twelve, now 18, I'm still not comfortable with inking. My hand is too shaky I think. T_T This is inspiring though, so thanks. :) P.S. Any tips for a shaky hand? -_- I could really use 'em.

@JessDrawsStuff Look up some drawing exercises to loosen up your hand. You are probably holding your pen too hard which is stiffening up your hand. The looser you are the more confident your lines will be.

you're awesome, damn, ive been drawing manga art for as long as i can remember, i still remember how suck my drawing was, but now i can draw manga-real like characters, but the prob is that ive mstered drwing characters with limited poses... so basically i cant drawing perfect bodies, there's always body parts that looked out of proportion... btw have u use manga pens?

k i've got a question. the drawing you have, pre inking, is that all in pencil? or is that a scan of previous drawing and printed to a lighter tone. i looks very clean and light so i can't tell if its pencil or printed scan

hey ive commented a few times on your DA pics and they are completely fantastic. you sort of remind me of where i want to be in 2 years (since i'm a sophmore now). i either plan on going to SCAD since its closer (live in NC) and major in sequencial art or major in comic art at MCAD. anyway the question i want to ask is where you found your materials, because the only supplies i have are mechanical and colored pencils and i need to use pens later on. if you read bakuman you remind me of nizuma.

question though, which marker would you recommend for filling in a large area of black like hair or like you did with background??

Any marker will do the trick. Either a sharpie or a pen brush or a brush with ink. I use a pen brush for mine. It does not really matter because once you edit it in photoshop (or whatever program you would use) you will adjust the inklevels.

yeah i know, its just nicer to get as dark as i can so when i do edit in Photoshop its easier to get rid of the blue rough lines and still get a clean looking ink lines
