This man reminds me of a boxer nicknamed "Butterbean"I don't know his full name he has a similar body build and next to impossible to beat. There are some rumours as as to why he retired his bouts are spectacular to watch.Just thought I'd add that. Fortunately for Mihkail he still has his hair Butterbean din't in case you ever see a picture :)
@ToomuchBTUstoday Butterbean beats Knoxvilles as in a Jackass movie ^^, pretty impressive demonstration, although im suprised Knoxville stood so long ^^
@wespozo I don't think anyone would throw his life away just for an opportunity to fight Mikhail Ryabko for real xD And basically you can do full speed and he does slomo and still kills you.. he's just many levels apart from anyone else..
I put myself in front of a systema teacher in seattle and he gave me a little sample of this stuff. you would be surprised to learn the barriers this art breaks, I neaver been in a real fight and neaver known what it meant to get hit real hard and systema teaches you to deal with conflicts without fear. once You overcome the fear of pain You will be able to deal with conflict.
True mate, im also on systema and no get in your way or something, but we also learn (i do systema in holland btw ;) ), that fear is also a good thing, it sharpens you and your reactions and stuff ;). but you're totally right :D.
This "hammer-fist" is so god damn vicious. its not like a boxer hitting you, with the prime force on the outside. the systema strike drives the force deep down into your muscle and nervesystem. totaly annihilating.
@0ZK0R He is just saying that he sees the opponet prepare for a strike because it starts from a hip, this way he sees how to act to counter that without having to move alot.
Mikhail Ryabko makes me think of a fighting teddy bear. I can't help it ! Even if he punched a hole in am M1 Abrams,he'd still remind me of a big teddy bear !
:) I know what you mean. he's always got that mischevious little smile on his face, hasn't he? I think he's at a point where he's basically never tense in combat work (of in life, for that matter), and so its like he's in this state of constant amusement. The Dalai Llama is the same. (And Mikhails' obvious love of a good feed doesn't hurt!)
Anyway the main thing that Ryabko says here is that you have to be completely relaxed and not form a stance or prepare blows in advance - be more flexible and relaxed and learn to punch from any angle and position.
Did you guys notice at the end of the clip when Ryabko hit the guy's lever side, the effect became more powerful a few seconds later. And Ryabko said 'well when he's used to my punches it will be easier for him to take them' That must hurt.
People! Find a systema seminar, go there and take one of thouse punches. A litle tap with knock you off your feet and keep you there. A bit harder one will damege your organs without leaving a mark on your skin. If you tense your body while getting hit, the punch will be 10 times more painful.
I first came into contact with Systema in 1998, thru video tapes, I thought it was interesting. I was training in Jkd at the time, anyway while attending my first seminar in 2002, Vladimir hit me so hard, I thought I was having a heart attack. Unbelievable to say the least.
wow really ! i have no chance of meeting him too bad.... anyway how is the feeling like getting hit by him beside heart attack ? i ask is because mikhil ryabko hit others.. and the fellow said it clam mi down ...
Yeah, it's just an unbelievable expierence, I've been training in all kinds of fighting disciplines, noone hits as hard as these guys. I've told many sceptics to do some "light sparing" notice I say light with them if they didn't believe me. Systema is great for any one who wants to learn self defense, because, it focuses on being relaxed in stressfull situations. Also, u learn unpredicable natural body movements. I think it's even better for trained fighters like myself.
quality work he must be the best teacher of all time heads down !!

Kinda feel sorry for the guy getting hit..he knows it is coming just not when lol. I wish I could speak Russian so I could understand.
At about 4:30 it looks like he is talking about punching from the hip, but I can't tell wheter he is saying you should do it, or don't need to.
