  • There is a little book that contains some of the letters that these soldiers wrote to home about that truce. On amazon...Oh Holy Night: The Peace of 1914 or from the press, see my website. If anyone would like to read it via the pdf, I would be glad to send it.

  • @sdcoyote70 yay I'd love to read it - do I have to give email address or will it com e naturally? anyways mongrielle@gmail.com is one - thanks! danke! merci!

  • Beautiful film! Im craing.:( I m from Poland. In 1914 Poland didnt exist on the Europes maps.

  • what the fuck i s up with people adding shitty music to movie clips? THIS SUCKS

  • @DMoy2 What's with people spewing unnecessary profanity and having no taste in music?

  • Well done well done!

  • the irish and french dont like each other

  • @TheMrcool90 they're scottish...

  • Nice job. Wonderful movie. The truce inspired me to write a book about it. See link to my website here on my profile.

  • nice song

  • Great film, however music you have with it, does the historical nature of the period no justice...

  • The sons and daughters of europe and beyond must untie beyond our stereotypes to bring peace and prosperity to earth. God bless.

  • Yes, well done! There is a UK website dedicated to the memory of that Christmas truce. They have many of the letters that those soldiers wrote to home describing their experience. It is at christmastruce dotCO dotUK There is also a picture of my book, oh holy night, there which is about that truce.

  • This video is perfect! Very well done!!

  • Great job! Excellent movie, too. I saw it in French class last week and had to use all my energy not to cry.

  • May the sons of Europe never slaughter eachother agian.

  • never again

  • @helmuthoorn dont forget us yanks^^

  • @kevinjjfr

You lt didn't came in untill 1917, but doing a terrific job.

  • @helmuthoorn hey a few more men to hold the lines that about all you needed, a little less area to hold yourself ^^

  • @kevinjjfr Statistically, the americans lost about 110,000. The British lost 1.1 million in military deaths, and france 1.3 million military deaths! Though the yanks did do some work, it was Europe as a whole that suffered. Heavily.

  • @Perilix 116,000 Americans just in 1917, the only year we were involved militarily on any front.

  • @Perilix c'est vrai

  • @kevinjjfr And almost no one says anything about our brave little country , Belgium. We stopped them together with allies. We never surrendered. Even in the second WW we held out almost as long as France.Americans did a great job, it's just a pity that you had bad generals: About 500 doughboys died the last day of the war, because the generals wanted some honour for themselfs. Here near Ypres the war is still alive. Our little country is filled with death soldiers.

  • @Rapido2101 should also talk of Denmark's and Finland's resistance ;) very good in WWII

  • @kevinjjfr Indeed in WWII , also the Norwegian put up a hello of a fight

  • @Rapido2101 got to admit the Germans in WWI really thought they would talk threw peacefully, sure gave them a shock, AND got the UK into the war, which in the end kinda of saves it for our side, nice chin reaction dont you think?

  • @kevinjjfr I think you need to read up on the dainsh resistance again if that is what you belive.

  • @claus5tal you really dont know what your talking about if you dont agree....Germans there who refused to surrender to the resistance had to call a cease fire with the locals, till 500 men could make a 2 week trek to get there to officially accept their surrender. so yes yes they did have a good resistance...read the book "that Denmark might live" , or Google "Churchill Club"

  • @Rapido2101 Theres alot of USA anger WWI...we were 2million building up to 5 million but someone settled for armistice instead of ending the war in Berlin... there were new munitions already on the docks of Brest...

crates of Thompsons, Browning auto rifle, etc...to increase and improve US offensive power...production lines of aircraft swelled after cylinder production bottleneck was fixed by US manufacturers.. too bad crushed German military and no WWII in 1939...

  • @Rapido2101

Nothing but respect for the Belgian troops in WWI. They fought heroicly, perhaps the bravest in all the war, for the defence of their country.

  • I loved that movie...

  • To me the song refers to someone dieing so yeah it works....Good job
