After reading the book by Harry Markopolos about the Bernie Madoff ponzi scheme, I have come to the conclusion that virtually any new regulations or new ideas for cracking down on schemes or fraud will be absolutely worthless.

Not that I disagree that regulation is bad. But that I firmly believe that all our regulatory agencies lack the muscle and bite to do any good.

The SEC has been in place for years. And it is completely impotent.

Fitting that there will be a new Consumer Protection Agency and not a Saver Protection Agency.
