I took my daughter to see Taykor at ythe Orange Peel in Asheville,NC. The man was 2 solid hours of energy and singing. He deserved to win because he is an "entertainer" not a woman with a treasure chest who felt like she had to show it every week. This was the biggest thrill for my daughter; she passed away two years ago this May.

He has a new album out -The Distance. It's great! Didn't' get "kicked off" his label, decided to produce on his own to have total artistic control over the music. It has a variety of styles - rock, blues, a nice little salsa number, a couple of countrified songs. His voice is superb throughout. If you like gut-wrenching blues get it from Target for the bonus track Indiscriminate Act of Kindness. That & "Battlefield" are my favs, w/The Distance & 7 Mile Breakdown, the rockin songs, close behind.

I've seen him live with his band twice and he is an amazing and fun performer. He is considerably different with his band. Remember he's singing different genres of music specified by Idol week to week and he stays true to the genre. He doesn't try to turn every song into rock like someone else did.
