about the les paul special ii: how thick is the body and how heavy does it feel (i know real gibson LPs are built like tanks and feel really heavy, does this one come close in feel?)
well, te vendetta xm has 24 frets, which the special II lacks, which will prob be better for metal soloing and what not. the vendetta is also lighter due to the body wood. but there's not much difference between them. if you can, try them both out before you buy.
@Spartann666 the XM i got rid of in a trade because all the stock on it SUCKED! it was only good for one thing...slow chords for pretty music. but it had no business in metal.
I am very much so considering buying a Epiphone Les Paul Special II also. How is the finish; is it easily scratched, ect? Or would you recommend purchasing it in a different finish?
the finish does not scratch easily if taken care of, but obviously if your rough with it alot it will scratch. i think the only other finish id recommend is the Wine red with black hardware.
its a really nice guitar if your starting out but for expierienced played alike. you might want to get it setup professionally though, (get the action adjusted, intonate it, that kinda stuff) but other than that its awesome.
