Itachi would win. We all forget that Itachi not only has plenty of chakra to do things like Tsukuyomi and Amaterasu multiple times in one battle, but also bring Susano'o out in the same battle. Not to mention the manga/anime also said he's gifted in taijutsu. We can only say Itachi has substantial stamina and chakra as well. And his genjutsu is so advanced he doesn't need eyes to captivate you. He can use just a finger. He's also so advanced in jutsu his handseals are almost impossible to catch.

You don't think Tobi filled Itachi in on how the jutsu works? And Minato can't just teleport willy-nilly. He has to use the seals (that he can place at anytime, yes). He chooses to use kunai because they're mobile and give him an aerial option or (during the great war) a tactile advantage.

And nowhere did I find that Minato can do that. I've Googled him and such and I've never seen in the anime/manga he could do that. It's always said he used seals to teleport. Be my guest in finding the page/episode where it does though. I'd love to be wrong.

Even Madara, just after the Rasengan, said that Minato had to have placed a seal on him in order to move so quickly to him. In any other instance where Minato doesn't use seals, it's just skill with the Body Flicker Technique kidna.
But still, (Idk if you got my last comment) Madara implies soon after that Minato had to place a seal on him in order to move that fast. In any other instance, Minato is simply skilled with the Body Flicker Technique or something similar to the Lightning Village's speed boost (Idk if it's different than BFT).
@IronicallyMature True, but the body flicker technique is a skill that any leaf shinobi can use. And you will notice that as soon as Minato catches naruto in the air , Madara congratulates him for living up to the the Yellow Flash moniker.
What I am trying to say is that Madara mentioned the yellow flash part for a reason, and I doubt it was because he used a technique that any regular hidden leaf shinobi could use.

I just noticed this. Minato wasn't an Uzumaki. Naruto inherited his last name and stamina from his mother, that's why she could house the Nine-Tails before.

We've all seen an amazing moveset from Itachi but nothing much from the 4th. And I personally believe that Itachi had the potential to become the 5th Hokage if the Uchiha Massacre was justified and released to the public. With Minato being the absolute fastest of all of the characters ( Out-maneuvered Madara ) I'd have to leave it at a draw. It'd be a massive scale battle though.`
u all forget that Itachi as beast as he was, they STILL never showed him at 100% he cudve had soo many more tricks up his sleeves :)

Minato isn't "fast" technically. He'd need a way to place a summoning kunai behind Itachi to get there, but Itachi knows about the fourth's jutsu and wouldn't let that happen (being a master marskman with kunai/shuriken and deflecting summoning kunai).
