if you give them this money they will only use the same tactic over and over again. WE WILL FACE HARD TIMES REGARLDLESS. don't let them fool you into thinking 'if we don't give them these billions we will suffer' because IT WILL NEVER END UNTIL WE ARE BOUND TO DEBT FOREVER. you heard mccain...he will cut EVERYTHING except MILITARY spending. you want a job? going the army! jobs for everyone!
Now that the collapse has occurred, the reform roadblock built by Senate Democrats in 2005 is unforgivable.
We now know that many of the senators who protected Fannie and Freddie, including Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Christopher Dodd, have received mind-boggling levels of financial support from them over the years.
He expects us as taxpayers to bail out the same people that step over the homeless on there way to work in their Armani suits, yellin at em'
"Get a jobBum"?Ivote NO.
Let them see how it feels to not be able to afford a gallon of milk because you don't get uor paycheck for another 3 days,I also find it a little ironic that the $700B that Bush proposes the government needs is just about equivellent to what he has spent(so far)on the Bush/Cheney War 2003 present.HMMMMM coincidence,Ithink not.
hmmm... so our president wants to bail out these financial institutions with tax payer money? he says that if we don't, are economy is going to collapse. my question is... do the CEO's and executive employees of these companies get to keep their multi-million dollar houses and all there fancy cars, nice suits, and lavish lifestyles? because if so... i say let them go bankrupt, let them see what it's like on our side of the fence for a while.
The federal government and the Federal Reserve are responsible for this mess with their excessive regulations, easy credit, and other money and market manipulation schemes. Todays rejection was a rejection of further worsening the problem with the same intervention that got us to this point. Yes, there will be some pain because of what the government has brought about, but the rejection of further intervention will make sure that that pain isnt made much, much worse for many more people.
No, it was corporate greed and a lack of regulation. Too many greedy corporate basterds have been investing their money in risky ventures and now they are all making us pay for it. What happened here will now destroy us even more as well as the American way of living, which is now what I am completely convinced that Obama and Nancy Pelosi have been trying to do all along.
Uh, Bush and Clinton? Clinton started the bubble (which was stable) and Bush imploded it with 2 incompetently led wars, intense borrowing, the death of New Orleans, and now an orchestrated communist bail-out? Only a communist could have thought this up. COMERADE BUSH!
It's easy to blame him, but yes...he did not contribute enough troops to Iraq or Afghanistan and now we're dealing with it many years later. It also doesn't help to strut onto an aircraft carrier 3 weeks into the war and say "MISSION ACOMPLISHED!" when obviously it is not MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.
(Note: Bush wasn't as responsible for New Oreleans as much as people believe. He is our nation's symbol, being the president, so it's easy to lay the blame at his feat. Be careful when doing that.)
It's easy to blame him. Yes it is, and he will be forever lauded as a failure.
he did not contribute enough troops to Iraq or Afghanistan. Of course he did, he had no intention of fighting this war the right way, this was an intentional quagmire.
Note: Bush wasn't as responsible for New Oreleans as much as people believe. He is the CHIEF EXECUTIVE. He allowed New Orleans to die, chiefly because it is no longer an oil boomtown and therefore would be expendable.
The market will have to adjust, and the nation will have to deal with the effects of what the government has brought upon us, but the answer is not to weaken the dollar.
We shouldn't let the market drop so that far economically either. My family can now kiss their 401Ks and pensions good-bye because of this. Can't wait to foreclose on my house and buy my very own cardboard box. Foget all the hard work we've invested our lives in.
im sooo happy to be seeing this.. i hate citi financial bunch of white trash and im soo happy people are loosing there jobs.. finally 3 rd world countries have power.. fuk i hate white folk
well i had thought it should take a little longer to work through but becuase of politics it is a mess i mean the house and all they have elections to work on as well
then you have mcCain games making things about him making the prosees not move along and then his Lies i got repubs to vote with me for the bill yut ok. and then putting camp on hold he was on the trail today Obama speach was awhile ago where is mcCain he has to practice what he wants to say & come up with lies Obmam didnt.
To hell with GW. There was nothing there for taxpayers. Let GW and his daddy pay for the mess, since they are both a part of this NWO.
How dare they ask for the taxpayers to pay for this. Are they smoking crack? Everyone in congress that voted yes on this bill are traitors. Please vote them out when their re-election comes up to vote on. Wall Street manipulates the stock market. Let them fix their own problems. Stop screwing the American taxpayer!
Are YOU smoking crack? Are you seriously that mentally ill? You'd rather the entire country go through a recession/ possibly 2nd Depression than pay a lil more in tax money?
A lil more tax money? You mean a LOT more tax money!Your an idiot. They only people this 700 billion dollar crapout is going to hurt is those rich assholes on wallstreet. They got their asses into this mess they can get their own asses out of it.How about the take some of their millions they have stashed away (since everyone on Wall St is a multi millionaire/billionaire)& put it together & bail their own asses out.
I see you are only 27 and very uninformed (baaahhhhh). This 700 billion dollar bailout is not what it seems to be. Its not about paying a "lil" more money. Its about devaluation of the dollar so that they can bring in the Amero. I am not mentally ill, nor do I smoke crack. I am older and much wiser than you. Do some research before you start calling people names and GROW A BRAIN.

Why is that America pride it self on "pick yourself up by the bootstraps" culture yet, always ask for handouts.

Most hard decisions to help the economy are unpopular but in the long run if the bailout is finnally passed they will be safe from further collapse.

if a bill is passed, you will see the destruction of the dollar.

The market will correct itself. We are facing hard times as Americans,
but with this bailout you will compound a problem that was created by
government intervention. The market will push out the distorted prices,
punish those who made bad investments, deflate the dollar and increase the
purchasing power of the people if you allow it to correct on its own.
Then Americas economy can begin to grow again based on sound money and
sound non-inflated markets. In time the market will fully recover
