  • I really love the way this was shot.

  • I wish this film was avail on HD or DVD or something anything it's my favorite short ever made

  • this is like the artsyist mini movie I've ever seen! Well done!!!

  • Perhaps it's named the most beautiful man in the world because, for the little girl, he is the 'only man' in her world. Who was nice too.

  • with the title the most beautiful man in the world i would believe it has to do with the fact that the stranger wasnt like most men and seemed to have no intention on harming this little girl or even the bug from her shoulder....when confronted with a situation that more men than anyone would like to admit would try to take advantage of an innocent child he simpley admired the innocence and even made her smile

  • It's her dad, imo..

  • The little girl captured me

  • I'm amazed that a child made this! Great job!

  • @therasunpy a child didn't make this... lol

  • please tell me what u shot this on

  • well, i see a neglected child, a man who makes her smile...and a mother who refuses any type of 'fatherly' or even motherly attention on her child....that is just the impression i got...

  • I am Paige Bishop on my mates account, the reason in the credits it says Paige Bishop and Holly boshop is because we are twins playing as one person...thanks for all the lovely comments, your not thick for not understanding it i didnt either, and all the people that have made bad comments i was only young you shouldnt have bothered to watch it, this video was made ages ago i am now 15 so this is quite embarrassing i must admit...thanks.

  • I'm a little confused. In the credits both Holly Bishop and Paige Bishop are credited as playing Lacey., Julee Moorcroft is credited as playing Mother. The blonde woman standing in the doorway looks like Paige Bishop in the photo on IMDB, so that can't be the mother. Is the young Lacey supposed to be an inner child metaphor, or do they have the entirely wrong actress attributed to the role on IMDB?

  • We have to adapt this into a story for an English assignment. Very profound and intriguing.

  • I think best short film is get out by a long shot

  • How can people love such a boring video! Its nothing to get enthusiastic about! To me it makes no sense im not saying this because im thick or narrow minded but if you wanna watch a good film watch this film called OCTAPODI! ITS AWSOMELY GOOD! even if awsomelys not a word :D

  • @electromonkey235 No the best short film is VIRUS

  • @ninj4bob i agree im doing all of them as a short film project at school and had to do virus as homework. but octapodi is definatly my best feel good ^_^

  • @electromonkey235 it's good to have an opinion, but you need a little more construction to your thoughts than it's "boring." You might have missed the entire point.

  • Thumbs up if you yawned when the girl did.

  • Loved it. Maybe the man is the father, but that's not the point. He is a simbol of an introduction into the feelings, into the world and nature stopped by the authority in name of "safety". Or hate. Or fear.

  • strange attraction

  • stunning

  • i don't understand. could someone enlighten me?

  • huh??

  • I hate these pointless little shorts which have absolutely no meaning whatsoever.

I just don't see the point of them.

  • quinquonnn

  • DOM DOM!

  • there's no interpretation. It's only experience of life. I really think this is one of the best short movies i ever seen, and I've seen lots

  • I don't understand this..... could someone explain??

  • That is absolutely gorgeous. Thankyou.

  • oh man, i have to write an essay too...

in my last year in germany

  • i liked it. still not sure what my interpretation is, maybe i'm over-thinking it. just some guy and her dog. nice though

  • what?

  • I didn't get it :(

  • That, sir, is because you are an emotional cripple.

  • "That's my dog." :3

  • lol wat?

  • Cheers For Putting This On I Have To Write An Essay On It For My Year 9 Media About It .. Written About 2 Lines Atm .. But Yh Nwayz Its An Amazing Film & Its Gd To See Something British For A Change x

  • i love love love this short film! we studied it in one of my film classes and its such a piece of art. thank you for posting! :)

  • hey.. could you give me some of the interpretations your class had on this film? i'm just curious- i came across it, and apparently there must be more to it since theres been discussions and assignments on it.. why?

i'm thinking it could be her father, the quality is beautiful, good actor for a little girl too- but why so much discussion on it? just curious..

  • I don't think he was her father. It would've had less meaning if he knew her. He was just a stranger who took the time to gently remove the bug from her shoulder and show it to her. They looked at each other and smiled. In that moment she learned something. He could have been a child molester. He could have hurt her. Her mother thought the outside world was too dangerous and that she would be better off locked inside and zoned out in front of the TV. "Last Child in the Woods" has similar themes.

  • Beautiful.

  • This is such an amazing short... the amplified sound is perfect. Thank you so much for posting this here, every time I see it matters so much.

  • i saw this on sundance and loved it.

  • does anyone know what this movie is about? is it just childsplay- a day in the life sort of deal or is that man supposed to be her dad who is not allowed to see her?

  • @silentalarm146 The fact that it is left open to interpretation, I think, contributes to how remarkable this film is. No?

  • @silentalarm146

I believe that the girl is in the house all day surrounded by a mundane life in what looks like the middle of nowhere,

but when confronted with the pureness and beauty of the (forbidden) nature around her, she sees her first glimpse of real beauty. Maybe the man is her father, or maybe he's just a stranger; the only person who's ever smiled at her, or made her smile.

  • man, i want to punt that "95 quid" hair stylist tv chick in the face...

  • yep

  • Of course not! HAhaha.

  • lol i have one paragraph so far

  • wow is everyone just starting this shot by shot now? lol

  • Yeah We definately are all from Carleton.

  • nice, I'm doing an assignment on this for film studies

  • as am i.

  • @mostbeautifulman Apparently, all the people watching this movie are film students with an assignment.

  • @mostbeautifulman me too

  • haha I bet we are all from Carleton.

  • Haha, me too, the video on WebCT wasn't working last night.
