the problem with ecstasy is that it causes an excess of serotonin in the brain. anytime there is an excessive release of serotonin, the body needs to produce enough to make up for that excess which results in a decreased amount available while off the drug. this gives a "low" or more depressed mood. in order to not feel depressed, you'll need more ecstasy in order to not feel depressed. this results in the person becoming addicted to the drug. not a good thing.

So therefore you cant be addicted because taking it day after day will do completely nothing.. therefore users have to wait regardless whether they want to or not.. when you are coming down of e or feel depressed during the week you dont want more because you know you are going to feel worse

I think there's a fundamental problem with the 'ecstasy is like prozac' argument. You see, I've come to this conclusion. Prozac tries to bring you back up to the normal human level of happiness. Ecstasy just brings you to a whole different level. You can feel happy sober; but it's not ECSTASY happy. Happiness on Ecstasy is a transcendental experience. You just can't feel it sober, and it's not because you're depressed about problems. It's because Ecstasy is just a WHOLE NEW LEVEL.
