  • Where can we watch this??? I've been waiting foreverrt

  • wow I can't believe I went to middle school with Thuy (Jenny) xD we used to make fun of each other lol

  • Poor cambodia's children, children prostitution is terrible. Can we ever stop it?!

  • does anyone know where I can watch this movie for free on the internet since i cant rent it. im very interested.

  • emmmm....you could check out tv shack and just search for it...i saw it on there...it takes a little while to load though....

  • To answer so people's questions, yes, the director received various threats from the government and local thugs. If he returns to the country, he will have trouble.

Also, this is infact a growing problem in Cambodia. Child prostitution is rampant. Anyone who denies this fact should go there themselves. For those who argue that it isnt a problem or doesnt exist because you dont see it...Well, of course not. It is done well behind closed doors.

  • Wow,now I really don't like my name.I used to like it,because it was a Christmas thing-and that's happy.Now I just think about a child prostitute...

  • now if feel the need not to have my name holly. depressing movie

  • haha can't believe i went to school with thuy.

  • They didn't show the exploitation of ethnic Vietnamese by the Khmer. It was the USA that imposed economic sanctions on the Vietnamese and made the people of the delta so poor that they had to sell there children? Almost all the young girls @ K11 were Vietnamese trafficked from the delta. Many others were Kampuchea-Krom from K5. The market for virgins is fueled by the Koreans and local Khmer. Check the tourist stats, things have changed, films like this can attract the wrong people to Cambodia

  • THIS IS not FAKE deserthook

    maybe you went to cambodia...but

you didn't go in the poverty nasty dirty corrupt places...

and this is very true and i thank the director Guy..

IF he goes back there they told him he will die just for shooting the movie....

  • So because you didn't see it on your vacation, it doesn't exist? Somehow I don't think it's the kind of thing you'd find on public display to tourists.

  • you are suchh a piece holyyy shit. Its people like you who are so intolerant that cause the problem to keep being forgotten because it isn't in the touristy areas of any country. You should research about this because cambodia does have a very high rate of human trafficked peoples but that doesn't mean cambodia is a bad country. If you disregard this I hope you fucking experience this first hand.

  • @deserthook So, what kind of tourist are you?

Cambodia may not be as bad as the sensationalists are painting it, but you have no clue and no, I don't read the Gospel according to Amit.

Yes, children ARE sold by their parents, yes, children ARE involved in the sex industry, yes, there ARE rumblings about certain NGOs "investigative" practices, no, that DOES NOT mean there is no child prostitution.

  • Comment removed

  • @deserthook - You are but 'one' person, you have not had the opportunity to see all the world holds or experience all the world offers, because it is impossible. I take on board your comment that you have not 'personally' witnessed child prosititution. in Cambodia. I think that it would be very wise of you to acknowledge that just because you have not seen it, does not meant that it does not exist.

The activity is disgraceful. Not the country.

  • look i am dying to see thiis but i cant find it anywhere,it's not in theaters by my,i cant find it anywhere online and it's killing me,does anyone know where i can watch it

  • TPB

  • i got mine on netflix, you really can't find it anywhere

  • they are re-releasing it soon!

  • I think that it's good that they had Ron Livingston do this film as it would attract more people who would be less likely to view it due to the controversial subject, or the fact that it's halfway around the world and, therefore, people have the terrible mentality that because it doesn't effect them personally, it is not worth it. I can't wait to see it...thanks for uploading!

  • the person who plays holly went to my orthodontist haha. he told me about this..

  • is it ever gunna come out on DVD?? can i like go nd buy it from a store, like bordes or smthin?

  • when does this movie come out in the cinemas in the uk???? i really want 2 c it

  • Anyway...R.I.P. Chris Penn.

  • i retract my previous statement lol but it looks like a great film that im going to see!!

  • this looks soooo good..a film not about americans..iloveeit! lol

  • Look all of you, i've reviewed the trailer and n light of coments from all ya people, think no f you hold a genuine reason to rate the movie bad, if its delivering its message right and touching your soul, it doesn't matter if the fucking accent is right or the girl is tall enough or not. So Please! Please! stop trying to nail each other's coffins and learn to appreciate a good effort! Peace to All!

  • and also, in the film, Holly was raised in Vietnam and then sold by her parents to a brothel (whore house) in Cambodia. so thats why shes Vietnamese but the setting is in Cambodia.

  • You guys really should watch the film, before you try to focus on the things you think are negative aspects. and the reason she was chosen was because the girls wouldnt audition. they're slaves. and the Thu (i think thats how its spelled, anyway the girl who played Holly) was outstanding. and in person she is so sweet. I went the the premiere and this was the most life altering film id ever seen.

  • HOLLY is the "English" name girls in this region use, since it is hard to pronounce their Asian name

  • It's best to portrait realism...there are simply Khmer names that are one syllable like Tem....her accent is so fake, viewers will see of this.

  • they originally sought out to get a girl who went thru it and put her in the film but they couldnt so they jus got some girl from Orange County. as for the criticism about the name Holly, i think ur emphasizing way too much attention to detail jus hopin and prayin that the film will suck but to get all worked up over the name "Holly" is retarded. u cant satisfy everybody, so those who choose to bitch bout the accent it on them

  • Into details? Looks like you typed more than I did so who's worked up and cussing? Don't have your panty all in a bunch..most movies aren't that great..this is probably one of them..not hating..but if the producers/writers are into the details to make the movie authetic somewhat then it'll prolly blow, holla! :)

  • ^Meant to say "aren't* into details...authentic

    Just typos...don't hate ;)

  • there are other aspects in film makin besides realism dat can win a audience over, 1 lil minuscule detail bout a name shouldnt disregard everything else in a film. maybe .1 percent of the US will whine but the majority of viewers wont notice cuz they aint no Khmer Pride motherfuckaz like u, The producers r more concern bout making a good movie, none of dat favoritism shit. da scenario is very plausible, dey aint tryna pass her off as khmer, watch da entire film before u feel qualified to review

  • Haha...Wow, you're crazy, man. It's not about Khmer Pride, dude...it's the fake accent, too. The preview/trailer is what it is...the first impression and that's my impression...you can hate it or love it..let others decide..

Why is it that ppl have a hard time with others' opinion? it's their opinion...will see how this does in the box office...only time will take, crazy...oh, btw, i'm not Cambodian/Khmer but I am knowledge of the culture.

  • crap^ knowledgeable*..typos, typing too fast, again...don't cha just hate that.

  • Hmm looks like a good movie. I was just wondering is this about a vietnamese girl? The place is set in Cambodia and its about a vietnamese chick. They could've chosen a khmer girl for this role since it is in Cambodia. :(

  • she probably was from vietnam, but was sold and smuggled into cambodia ^.^

  • In the movie she lived in Vietnam and was sold by her parents to a brothel (whore house) in Cambodia.

  • In the film she lived in Vietnam and was sold to a brothel (whore house) in Cambodia. so thats why..

  • Finally a person has the courage to deal with the problem and expose everything and everybody involved,

    Well done and good luck.

    Can't wait for both films.

  • This is AMAZING

  • i want to seeeeeeeeeeee it! i'm in Philly!

  • I'm a huge Ron fan and have been following the production of this film, I can't wait to see it. I just watched the 'making of' featurette and was shocked by the realism of it. I'm so glad that people are willing to make films like this to show the public what really goes on outside of our 'Leave it to Beaver' society.

  • Such an important film- Guy Jacobson is superb!!!

  • My mom used to babysit Ron Livingstn back in Iowa when he was younger!! We're Vietnamese and I was just telling my mom about this movie and Thuy Nguyen. I can't to see it!!!

  • Where do you live now?

  • looks like a good movie, do u know if it will be showing in toronto?

  • not that we know of yet. thanks for the interest

  • Looks like a quality film about a tough subject. More people should be made aware of the situation over there. Trailer is great!!
