I don't believe that anyone crying about those changings in gameplay and direction truly believe this will be a bad game. But i haven't seen either anyone commenting about how Homecoming or other versions besides the first three, and to a lesser extend The Room, were great Silent Hill games because those games lack the authorial content that truly made the series remarkable. Instead, they're kind of spin-offs made to satisfy a fan base that misses a lot the original premises of Silent Hill.

Although I'm not sure about the music, I think this game will be a really great one. It looks like it would fit with other great horror games. Say want you want, but I'm excited about this thing.

I recently discovered that I'm a huge fan of SH but I think that if I had been a fan this is when I would start to seriously worry. It looks like it has traded atmosphere for glamorous gore and Korn and looks more like amnesia. I'm very concerned particularly considering the composer just left.

If some time traveler had told me years ago when I finished playing Silent Hill 3 that somewhere down the road there would be a SH featuring monsters that look like Marilyn Manson, action based gameplay and music by Korn.....

Please... PLEASE tell me that gasmask monster wont be the pyramid head stand in. God damn it the thing looks just like the executioner from Resident Evil. My hopes that this game will be good are slowly starting to drain.

@kliuwa was Valtiel a pyramid head stand in? No. Same thing here. The executioner has nothing in common with that things. Executioner carries an axe, has a genetically enhanced parasite in him and his skin is resistant to bullets,

@dessan18 Valtiel, just like Pyramid Head, is tied into the town's cult mythos. I know Silent Hill games have a bit of a running theme with the 'main monster'.

SH 2 had Pyramid Head, SH 3 had Valtiel, SH 4 had Walter, but I'm sorry if I cant take that gasman monster seriously. He looks cliched as hell. And gasmasks are not the first thing popping into my head when someone mentions Silent Hill.

Im not saying that this big bad IS the executioner, I'm saying that the resemblance is remarkable.

@kliuwa well don't you think it's a bit too early to draw conclusions? For all we know he/she/it could only be a 1 time encounter, possibly a boss fight. I'd like to talk with people who are looking forward to this game but it's not gonna happen if I'm the only one left.*sad face*

На самом деле все сделали правильно. Использовать свой уникальный стиль и свое видение silent hill - куда более верное решение, чем попытка использовать наработки давно умершей Team Silent, причем не вполне удачно, как это было с Homecoming. Надеюсь в итоге получится что-то вроде SHSM : нечто самобытное и оригинальное.
