This video is great! Where is more footage of their concert appearances? 38 years gone but not forgotten! Please release more of Jim and Maury it's way overdue!!
Just where were these guys headed? They are a reminder that there isn't simple talent like this now. It's just a facial thing; look good enough and we'll make money etc... J and M would have maybe ended up an equal unit and viewed as such. No doubt Jim was already planning them as an actual band instead of Jim and the other guy... Anyone know what they were billed as in shows like this?
I don't know if you noticed, but at 2:24 Maury glances over at Jim, Jim sees him out of the corner of his eye, and automatically looks back. To me, this is one of those tender moments that tells you about their friendship and musical relationship.
Hell, I was giving all the credit to Croce all these years but he was not alone. Give Maury, the other guitarist credit also. Damn great player so its now the Jim & Maury Show!!!!
i really like this song. it sounds like he added the chorus later, and that funny little bridge. it would sound a lot different that way.. that's why i think people focus on the chorus too much.
true his music will last forever my kid loves him 2 and hes 20 and he will show his kid too when he has one thank you jim croce for all ur great songs i can only imagine if u where still alive
This song was used to open and close the film,"Hard Driver",starring Jeff Bridges and the beautiful Val Perine. The alternate title was also ,"Greatest American Hero".
Thanks for posting this video. I love the 3 part harmony along with the piano and two guitars. Very nice!!

Is that sarcasm? No. It just seems that's the way the other half still lives. Life doesn't pass by for the objective denying or accepting purpose.

this is the best view I have seen of Maury's guitar work. I am trying to dissect exactly how he did it. He is using a thumb pik, right?
