I too live in Southern Utah. Yes this is a little crazy/fake. I mean he landed in Bryce Canyon and got picked up near La Verkin. But the show isnt him surving. Its him showing YOU what to do in SPECIFIC situations. Certain situations couldn't be displayed in Bryce or Zion. So he came here.

I had to laugh a little while watching this. The river is about a half mile from my house, and only about a quarter mile from a major highway. Where he picked the tea, the highway was less than 100 yds behind the camera man.

Thanks Bear for coming to my stomping ground. There are a lot of people that get lost out in that area all of the the time and just aren't prepared. I wish more of them would watch this show and carry a decent survival knife. Props to the volunteer search and rescue who save a lot of lives each year!

@newzackcity its about the same as walking... would you rather walk and get to rescue 4 times slower? which you could possibly die from lack of water and exhaustion. or run? cuz running will get you there way faster, keep you from getting stung by the slow sun, but you are using up many liquids.. ether way, the wilderness is just difficult.. but i'm pretty sure bear knows what he's doing.
