@soyntgo4it it's only for 06 and 07 model's i myself have an 07 and yes 3rd gear does pop out but once you drive the car you can understand the problem and once it pops out you would have to double clutch the rev match for in to go straight back into the gear with no grind.
my si has a problem shifting into sometimes..it doesnt pop out but it makes me grind sometimes..i told honda about it and they say its fine..till today it still has problems shifting into gear..this is my last yr of warranty...i think i might just blow out the tranny to get it fix huh>? what u think?
@15152020koj when you put it on 3rd just hold the shifter there then as soon as you hit 3k rpm shift to 4th right away. i even do cluthless shifting and it works fine but sometimes it's really hard to put on 3rd but you will get used to it
if you just hold the shifter it'll kepp the linkage pulled back which would keep 3rd gear engaged whether it wants to or not. a car is still a machine controlled by a person. if you hold the shifter forward you'd be ok
I have this problem with my 06 Si but it seems to go away once its warmed up.. somtimes.. I gotten use to it.. idk seems to me if you racing it will let you go into third half way so you can drop it in to forth faster, just have to hold it.. Idk.. dosnt bother me anymore..
damn just brought my 08 civic si sedan in for repair making grinding noise 1st through 3rd gear also sliping and making noise in neutral. and my vin number is From VIN 2HGFA555.8H700001
i noticed this problem early, i called honda about it and they told me it was my fault (driver error) so i ignored the problem until now. after reading several articles i realized im not the only one experiencing this problem, it turned out to be a manufacturer defect after all, and not me. i will be contacting honda this week about this

thats a good point bro im just sayin its an easy solution if you dont feel like taking it in....
MattH12491 1 year ago 2
@MattH12491 you shouldnt have to hold it forward, you should be able to shift and drive not have to worry bout holding it.
