I work in one of the warehouses, and they don't treat the employees any better. You get written up for every little thing you do wrong. There's a lot of favortism and they call us a team. Nobody is happy there. Once upon a time this company cared about their employees... times change huh GAYlen and your stupid sweaters!
6. Related to 5, the constant turnover of employees leaves work undone due to constant training. This means Loblaws needs to allocate more hours for people to complete that work. They won't do that however, which leads to FT employees unable to properly train new hires and all training being essentially "on-the job" which results in many mistakes and oversights by new hire --- and is also too demanding a task for a person who makes only minimum wage. This is why so many part time people quit.
4. CAO tagging is obsolete. It causes unnecessary work and endless overstock..Orders should be automatically done/refreshed by computer as the database records sales.
5. Loblaws has cut P.T wages to compensate, thereby punishing the people who are most motivated to work hard --- new employees. The low wage is the cause of Loblaws high turnover in produce, cash and night crew, it leads to astefulness. i.e., of time training new employees every 2nd week, instead of actually getting work done.
1, Inability to fire incompetent unionized employees, Loblaws simply cycle the person through different stores, until they find a place where he or she "will do the least damage".
2. Time-based raises instead of performance based raises leave employees with no reason to do more than the bare minimum, it also implies a distrust of management to make these distinctions and observations.
3. Day crews dump all stocking on perennially understaffed night crews.
Here in Canada C.A.O (computer assisted order)is really a joke ,that's why shelves are empty because the computer can't predict how well products move.plus treatment of their employees at store level is terrible so when they are dealing with customers ...guess what "they don't give a rats ass!!!" .
@goblinhack Yes I agree C.A.O does not help for example i work in zehrs in the meat dep...and all of our stock is always out C.A.O is supposed to stop that....the STOre managers dont keep track of the department managers so they fuck the dog all day long...and I like how at 0:43 this asshole says the employees arnt doing their job they just steal from the company...I'd fuck kick his ass..I bust my ass working there wtf does this cock sucker know...stupid fuck.
@frankenstein04 He's not saying they're in the back stealing, he's talking about product availability, the staff are in the warehouses looking for stock they are unaware is unavailable rather than being on the sales floor helping customers. Please listen to whole sentences.
@21quandary "The staff who should be out on the store floor serving customers are out in the back room hunting for goods" If that is what he meant he worded it terribly.
As promised: Loblaws wasn't only in Canada. When I was dating the girl who became my wife(she lived in Erie, PA), I discovered there some Loblaws stores in Northwestern Pennsylvania. In fact, one of them is now a Quality Markets in the Liberty Plaza on West 38th Street, between Liberty and Peach Streets in Erie.
I wish the comment posting was available for "1985 Canadian commercial - Loblaws - School Lunch Savings."
Before moving to the Buffalo area, I remember National Supermarkets in Minnesota and Louisiana. When I saw Loblaws, it took me a while, but I eventually found out that you take the National logo(looks like small "n") and rotate it 180 degrees for Loblaws(looks like capital "L").
However, Loblaws wasn't limited to Canada. More next post...
Watch it and watch the comoditie prices on the side, Gold was in the 600 dollar range, Oil was only 60, and te canadian dollar was worth 86 cents. Does anyone know when this aired?
thanks for the insiders shirts you cheap fuck !

Some Loblaws Fundamental Problems:
1, Inability to fire incompetent unionized employees, Loblaws simply cycle the person through different stores, until they find a place where he or she "will do the least damage".
2. Time-based raises instead of performance based raises leave employees with no reason to do more than the bare minimum, it also implies a distrust of management to make these distinctions and observations.
