That's because Tom dominated this album in the vocals department. And everyone hears AAA simply as being Tom, more specifically Tom's AAA voice. Trust me, if you took Tom's voice circa 2003 and put it on this album, it would sound like Untitled part II rather than "New AAA". It's really just the vocals that's throwing everyone off.

I disagree. the fact that Tom has finally improved his ability to sing and has a slightly lower tone is not the only thing that distinguishes these songs from the old ones, indeed, the fact that he sings better and do some vocal virtuosity is a good thing (for me at least), but it is just the kind of music that changes, the electronic effects and all these bullshit with several different sounds makes these songs "alternative", which I do not like.

The song can be about a hot girl that is cold as steel falls in love. The pain that Tom sings about could be the feeling when the girl you've wanted for long finally falls for you.
