I really enjoy your videos and website, however you didnt mention anything about the material "lifting" as you tension the vice. Are kurt vices really that good that they dont lift the work?? i dont think so. Maybe do an addition to this video about work lifting as you tension the vice, especially as not all vice's are the same. Still a good video though :)
@tboost007 Any decent mill vise won't lift as you tighten it. On Kurt vises and similar designs, as you turn the screw, it pushes the jaw closed with a wedged plane that forces the vise jaw down against the ways of the vise. If you notice the small vice he showed, it also tightened "down." You may actually have to use a dowel to tap out the parallel after you tighten it if you want to drill thru holes, as it will be quite tight.
@artgoat I'm well aware of how angle lock vises work, as i have a fairly good one as it is, however alot that i have used in different brands and countries of manufacture do lift, albeit slightly. I admit i havent used a Kurt, and to be honest it was my second choice for a vice, but here in australia you cant get them and frieght costs for one are really high so i am stuck with a lesser make. My first choice was the Glacern machine tools vice which you can see here on youtube.
You forgot to mention ZIg-Zags

Good video. Now I'd like to see one on setting up your tool box.
