We seem to like lean ground beef better than most cuts of beef. I make several things with it, ground beef patties, a meatloaf, meat balls, and tacos come to mind right now.
Oh and a Joe's special, with mushrooms, spinach and other goodies. Guess I better be making a video on that one.
I like your video! I have been counting calories for about four months and have dropped 30 pounds. (feel great) Regarding organic foods, I've read on Consumer reports that anything you have to peel (oranges ect.) do not have to be organic. Makes sense but if you can afford all organic, more power to ya!
I don't eat cheese except in the pizza and not too often. It is a special meal around here and a unhealthy one at that according to my new way of eating. I don't know if it is going to work out for me. To restrictive I think but tasty.
I love your grocery hauls Marjie!! My goal is to shop more in the produce area.... more so than I do now!!! lol Do you mix the Kale, Romaine, and Spinach in your salad??
It is yum, I eat it twice a day, huge and I mean huge plate of it. I actually look forward to it, but must admit, I don't like chopping it all that much.
That salad is good, it has romaine, kale, bell pepper, cucumber, garden onions, apple, basil and raisins in it. The dressing tastes fab on it. I love the taste of sweet and salt together. Yum oooo
yes I agree I like the title change as well. great haul. you are inspiring me. I am so ready to lose this weight. Thanks for the support and for being an insperation Angie
wow that salad in the opening part of the video has totally inspired me to make a salad tonight. i'm going to have some shrimp too - just steamed, cleaned shrimp. yum.
That is the salad I eat for lunch and before dinner. It has garden onion, red bell, cucumber, apple, basil, kale, romaine, and supposed to have raisins but they are my binge food so I can't bring them home.
The dressing makes it even more healthy with flax oil, lemon, honey, dijon mustard salt and pepper. i love salt and sweet together. Best darn salad ever.
a jammed freezer means it will not have to work as hard to remain cool. so you will be saving money on electricity while getting healthy. win win. great job on everything you've accomplished
Our TJ's must be smaller than yours. It has very few teas, I buy coffee for the husband there and bread. The frozen veggies too and sometimes fish. Oh, and goat cheese if I am in the mood for it.
I love goat cheese, which is funny b/c I'm not into "strange" cheeses. I like cheddar, provolone, and american. Also, cream cheese and cottage cheese I'll eat. Goat cheese is superb with rosemary crackers. It tastes very mild and smooth, but I guess I could see why someone wouldn't like it. The taste isn't as pungent as cottage cheese or cream cheese. It's hard to describe, especially bc I don't eat any other soft cheeses, so I can't really compare it.
Goat cheese has a tang to it that I like, the last one I tasted was soft with honey added. I like it on pizza, I made a video on it, of course it does not have honey for a pizza.
I sure hope that freezer stuff last a few weeks. Seems I am hoarding food. Weird, when I was fat there was never anything to eat in the house, I shopped almost every day.
yeah, the CS teas have soy, and I generally dont do soy, but I will eat stuff that has a little soy in it. Although, maybe i shouldn't drink tea with it in it, considering how much tea I drink..hmmmm that Clementine kind looks good.

Congratulations on your weight loss.
I don't always buy organic grown fruits and veggies. I try but sometimes can't find what I want. I haven't read about oranges etc guess I need to.
Better than eating organic is not eating processed foods.
Good luck with your continued good health.

That chipoltle pepper is very hawt!!! lol What all do you do with the corn tortillas?
waterchicklet 3 years ago
That chipoltle is very hot. I forget it sometimes and over do it.
I make fajitas and tacos from fish, beef and chicken with the sprouted corn tortillas. They are scrumptious.
macomarell in reply to waterchicklet (Show the comment) 3 years ago
i ate a whole can of chipoltle sauce once.

Thanks,
I do mix the Kale and Romaine in the salad, this week I had the Spinach separate and raw with a hot dressing poured over it.
I am loving all this raw food I am eating.
macomarell in reply to rugratstar (Show the comment) 3 years ago
Awesome grocery haul and it really inspires me to eat healthy. All of it looked so fresh, nutritious and delicious.

Thanks, I just made another one of those huge salads.
I love the taste of fresh.

Nice haul! I never knew that about Celestial Seasons. How do you like Stivia?
CurvyElegance 3 years ago
Thanks,
I didn't know it had soy either until I read the label at the store, The one I bought doesn't.
I love Stevia, but not the brand in this video. I like the one I buy at Trader Joe's better. It has no fillers.
macomarell in reply to CurvyElegance (Show the comment) 3 years ago
All that looks so yummy!! I'm tempted to buy fish, but I've never liked it at resturants, and I'm afraid I'll cook it wrong.
But I loooove sushi.. go figure. xD
Haezo84 3 years ago
I have never tried sushi, guess I should.
I cook very few fish, mostly salmon and halibut, they are the easiest to cook. They are pretty firm fish.
macomarell in reply to Haezo84 (Show the comment) 3 years ago
I do tend to overspend. Why the heck are groceries so darn high? Sucks. I need to grow a few veg this year. The easy ones anyway.
Yep no more room in that freezer for sure.
macomarell in reply to mywlsjourney (Show the comment) 3 years ago
Hey, watch out with that chipotle powder, it is HOT, I have use too much of it a few times. I love the stuff.
Stevia is great, I don't like the brand in this vid. I am going back to the one I bought before. You can see it in an older groc. haul.

No, I actually get very little at TJ's. I don't like their produce.
I shop at Raley's it is a local chain in Northern Calif.
macomarell in reply to liplylips (Show the comment) 3 years ago
They have the same things. Except for the meats. But all the teas, veggies, fruits and grains Ive seen at TJs.
and the same thing happens to me when i got shopping Hunrgy. Almost take the whole store with me.

I eat the kale raw, just chop it up for my salad. It has a great and mild taste. The nutrients in it are out of this world.
