  • did anybody notice he's got a wedding ring? :D (since the video's flipped it looks like it's on his right hand but it's on his left)

thank you for the video! i have learned so much from you in just one month

  • @JuliGrace21 a wedding ring doesn't have to be on your left hand! in many european countries, like poland, germany, italy, france, holland, you wear your wedding ring on the right hand and engagement ring on the left hand.

  • Amazing tips! What about sunscreen? Do you just use a moisturizer with sunscreen? Thanks.

  • In your video "Make under eye bags disappear!" You show a completely different technique for concealer under the eyes than you are doing here... can I ask why?

  • @sbgitana1 I guess that different technique was to conceal *bags*. Here he is showing how to conceal just color. I guess you can mix the techniques for maximum effect.

  • @egarrulo got it. thanks. :)

  • Huge revelation on your tip: "Like cures/sticks to Like." Thanks!

  • I just discovered your channel and subscribed :) I'll be brief:

    * you seem really prepared and skilled

    * your advice is precious to me and to most people interested in make up, i guess

    * i love your accent

    * you explain things thoroughly and make them easy to understand

    * you're handsome

    * you rock

  • Question, how can I tell if a foundation is silicone based or water based?

  • @PrettyBrwnDiva I'm not sure but I think you just have to look at the ingredients and see if it contains silicone (silicone based) or not (water based). I might be wrong tho!!

  • I totally love this!!! I couldnt find this information anywhere else. I did come across a bare minerals chanel but the make up artist had black under her eyes, I couldnt finish watching it. But AWSOME PRESENTATION! I would like to see one with more economically appropriate products....please : )

  • aren toners bad for oily skin types because they dry you out and your skin produces more oil to compensate for the loss.?

  • hmmm i have a problem area im unable to fix.... i have a slightly dark skin right above my tear dot, thats under my eyebrow starts and i tried to use concealer but it ended up showing powdery, fake rather worst... kindly let me know how to cover up that 1/2inch dark skin

  • im a beginner with ultra dry skin, as a result i end up cacky and i always land up looking like a ghost even though foundation is very much my shade...but but but thanks to u.... ur advice showed up a lot of difference on my face, now my foundation looks like my own skin.... thanks for sharing with us..... love love ur videos

  • You should b on TV...

  • Hi Wayne : )

My concealer looks great upon application. The 180 year old issue (LOL) only comes into play about an 'HOUR' or two later "After" the concealer has Completely settled & set. How do I prevent this from happening???

By the way my skin especially Dry around the eye area and I am over 40. So I DO NOT wear powder.

Also you mentioned oil mixes with oil not water...Where does silicon fit into this theory??

    Thnx ; )

    Kim

  • but if i have oily skin should i use a oil based foudation? i thought that's bad..

  • Thank you so much for sharing with us your make-up secrets for a professional look! We certainly have what to learn from your videos, lots of useful tips. Please, keep us posted with new tutorials!

  • your videos are total cool and informative.

  • Hello Goss, I have a question for you. Do you think it´s really necessary to buy a face primer like Mac Prep + primer skin base primer? you are talking about a moisturizer fragrance free and I think something like dramatically different moisturizing lotion by Clinique, and a face spray like Evian Mist. Are you agree with that? I am buying my primer product but I really appreciate your comments before buying it!!!! Thank you!

  • There's just something about this man that screams Savage Garden.

    truly, madly, deeply!

  • Wayne, which tutorial can I watch to cover primers? Your favorites, etc.

  • You're such a cutie!

  • how do you know if a product is oil based or water based?

  • @vinhdieulisa add couple drops into water to see if its immiscible or not

  • I have problems with concealer making me look older as you stated it can do the thing I hate is one side of my face is more aged than the other side. I believe that its due to sun and smoking. I don't smoke anymore but there is no getting away from the sun. As you can guess the side of my face that looks older is my left side its the side that faces the window in my vehicle. I use sunscreen and avoid the sun as much as possible. I have combo skin what would you suggest to fix this problem?

  • Thank you!

  • great series, thank you.

  • you're cute

  • I got BB corrector and concealer recently but I always have problems with concealers sinking into fine lines. I did put eye cream prior to applying under eye products but no luck so far. any tips?

  • Wayne, what is the purpose of a primer, specifically? I mean, realistically what can we expect from using them, are they worth it? I've seen so many types, is it effective at helping coverage?

  • This was very useful, thanks for sharing!

  • Having a concealer 1-2 shades lighter than your actual skin tone is because if you highlight the under eyes area it will slenderize your face and it will make you look much more awake! Of course you don't have to do it though i'd strongly recommend it to everyone out there who want to look not just great, but stunning!!

  • hi there! i have oily skin. and in the beginning where you describe how to prep oily skin, i'm having trouble understanding what you're saying. all i hear is to use a toner with...something...in it. what is it? i'd really like to know.

  • @LoveTheLies he says "toner with some waterbinding ingredients in it something like fix it plus" i like to use HA serums myself hth

  • Hi, Ive just found your channel. amazing tips, some of them never heard of. thank you so much!!!

  • Hi Wayne. IMy name is Allison. I came across your videos just over a week ago and they are excellent. I have watched most of the videos to date and wonder if you would be able to, in the future do a video on someone of colour with hyper-pigmentation showing how best to apply concealer / foundation without it looking like a mask, as this is the problem I have.

  • I've learned so much about makeup application from you. Many other videos work if you're 20 years old & clubbing. But for practical real life, YOU address this, thank you so much. Not to mention, I'm "more mature" (cough) than 20-something, and you're the only one I've found who talks about these things (like hooded lids). You are a Godsend. I rate all your videos and watch you like a hawk I've learned SO much thanks to YOU & the audience you target/include. Please keep going.

  • Hi Wayne!

Finally validation-my mum Always patted her foundation with a tissue and did not use powder so I always patted with a tissue and people looked at my like I was crazy! Keeps me from having to use powder which can be sooo aging!

    Thanks for priceless contributions!

    Jan

  • can you reccomend a good decent-priced moisturiser for oily/dry skin please??

I currently use Illamasqua's Satin Primer which is brilliant, but its expensive and when it runs out, i would not know what to get that is great for the skin ! thank you xxx

  • OMG, i just so regret that i only found about your videos today!!!......Couln't help dropping a quick comment before finishing the entire video!!! Professional views! Useful tips! Many of my problems/puzzles in applying makeup solved by watching your vids!! All in all, you do have a deeper understanding of makeup and knows how and are generous enough to share your knowledge and skills! Love u and ur vids!!! Plz keep going!!!

  • Love love love your videos! I'm 26 years old and learning everything that my Mum never knew to teach me from you! I really appreciate all these videos, they are just fantastic!

Just wondering if there are any alternatives to the fix plus spray? They don't have a Mac store where I live.

  • If you have nails and cannot apply the concealer with your finger tip, would you suggest using a sponge or is there a brush to use for blending? Does anyone else suggest anything? It would be very much appreciated.

  • Good start. Looking forward to seeing part 2. Excellent advice about bringing the concealer down further to blend with the foundation.

  • Cheers Wayne, Awsome explantion of concealer. Would you be able to do a demonsrtaion on reducing/concealing redness? Many thanks Indy

  • I just subscribed to your channel and I am already a big fan.. Love the background and light you are using to make ur videos against the other gurus who use yellow light which makes their skin look perfect even before the makeup and makes me feel sick for my skin :(

  • is it just me or do you use makeup that is veeery bright on you?I would use like one or two shades darker but that's just my opinion.

  • @SalsitaCubanita anything darker would be so hard to fix if it gets oxidized

  • I'm an italian girl...And I love your tutorial. I'm doing an extraordinary effort to understand everything, but I'm learning a lot! Thank you so much...

  • what does spraying fix plus do??

  • spraying fix plus is helping to moisturize your face and it also helps setting your makeup so that it stays longer :)

  • Very useful, thanks. I have a bobbi brown undereye concealer that I haven't really used because it was so pale it gave me reverse panda eyes! I'll try spreading it out a bit more ;-)

  • I see how concealer works for dark circle under eyes but what about ace scars(brown/red) on cheeks or etc? do I still use lighter color? some ppl told me to use darker than my skin tone for them.. I'm willing to do whatever you say. I have my total trust on you!

  • You sound so convincing :-)

  • So interesting. I have been concealing incorrectly for so long!

  • All your vidoes are brill, you are extremely talented.

  • Qn: I use sunscreen over my moisturizer. Shld I blot my sunscreen?

  • im learning frm the best!

  • fantastic series.....very helpful!

  • I had a question for you! But first your videos are so helpful and amazing!!

So i have lost weight in the last 2 years and so i have had small tiny strech marks in my neck also i have developed sun spots, how or what do i do to get reid of the spots or what trick could i do to blend my lighter face with my darker makeup? im also latin so already a dark tone. I tried skin spot treatment and even bleaching and it has only made then pop out even more! PLEASE HELP!

  • Thank you for always remembering to mention what will work for darker skin tones. I really appreciate it. So many gurus seem to forget this part. x0x0x

  • you are absolutely wonderful! Thanks for the awsome video!!!

  • so what would you do if your client has acne, acne scarring or any other imperfections?

just go along with concealing them normally?

  • i really liked this lesson!!! great great tips. and hahaha...if you dont mind me saying, i like your accent. ( i'm from america so yea.. D: )

    once again great tips!

  • Concealer always has to be three shades lighter ? I went to mac and they matched me at NW25 but it works perfect. I also heard you talk about warmer based tones and i have yellow undertones but im using NW25 concealer is that right ?

  • what kind of moisturizer do you use? Thanks for the awsome vid:D

  • I seriouslt think it was Bobbi Brown who came up with the idea of having concealer 2 shades lighter- and i think i might have heard it from u. regardless, i Love your videos

  • thank you so much for these videos there are so informative!

  • How have I been applying makeup all this time without your advice?!

    Amazing advice!

  • Your so right about bringing the concealer down. Kim K's makeup artist mario dedivanovic does this to give her a stunning finished look

  • Like is attracted to like, was the best advice EVER! My foundation now works. Thank you so much!

  • Thanks, teach.

  • What concealer palette is that? Where can I get one like that? or individual concealers/correctors for the under eye? I have tried SOOO many and either they create wrinkles or they dont cover at all! Help pls

  • @rthenmeyer I believe its the Bobbi Brown BBU Palette - runs for about $250

  • This is a brilliant idea......this series - awesome!!!!!

  • i have a question... how can i go about covering this bluish/greenish tinge i have over my upper lip? Its like a shadow but no concealer really works and no matter how much makeup i put on it it won't get covered...and no its not a moustache LOL

  • So what perzactly is the diff between corrector & concealer?

  • Thank you so much sweetie, you are the best I have looked high and low for someone that would be willing to share this knowledge.

  • Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! Your concealer tip is extremely helpful thank you.

  • it's soooooooooooo HELPFUL!!!

    love u....

  • Cannot wait for the next tutorial, you ROCK Wayne :) keep up the GREAT work!!!!

  • Wayne - your tutorials are always so thorough and interesting. I have learned more from your tutorials than any other and my make up is looking DAMN HOT lol. I can't wait for the next video. Totally agree with people saying you should be on tv - you would be great :)

  • thank you! :)

  • Thankyou for this information.I am absorbing as much info as I can. Guess this makes me a Makeup sponge{corny i know lol}

  • Did you wet the cosmetic sponge you used for the moisturizer application?

  • GREAT tutorial. Cant wait to see the rest. This is exactly what I have been looking to come across here on youtube and I've found it and I just love your vides. Always great tips.

  • really helpful tutorial, looking forward to the rest of these!

  • You rock, Wayne! You're simply the best and I'm anxiously awaiting the next tutorials.

  • Amazing I agree with you 100% !

I do think that a concealer 2 shades lighter is obsolutely wrong for a natural beauty makeup.

But for photoshoot I just bring down the corrector down to the cheeks and in direction of the nose. Then apply foundation on the other parts of the face starting from outside and it blends so easily with the corrector.

  • wat kind of foundation should be used for a yellow skin tone medium dark with oily skin?? like wat brand would u suggest??? cuz mac gives breakouts.

  • i think maybe you should go into tv ud do great....i could see u on T4 or something

  • Question--Here you are doing bridal makeup and the bride will stay outside all day needing Sunscreen. Does the sunscreen become the only moisturizer in this case? Then, foundation needs to be oil-based as the majority of sunscreens contain oil?

  • Once again a brilliant vid with tips that i will probably use forever. You change the way i look at doing my make up, love you to bits, thank you!

  • Awesome insight and eye for color and the "big picture"!

Where does Sunscreen fit into this? Dermatologists recommend minimum 3% minimum zinc oxide (non-micronized) sunscreen which is quite heavy even when lightly applied. Any suggestions? Also would you please post the names of the products that are on Macs regular website? Some of us are not artists yet and therfore, to my knowledge, can not purchase MAC Pro products. I can not buy MAC full coverage foundation for example.

  • You can call MacPro and make an order over the phone if you are not a makeup artist. Check your MacPro website for the phone number.

  • Thanks! Even Wayne's subscribers are awesome!

  • Yea! Love it! Can't wait to see the rest of the tutorials. Love to see the basics as it refreshes what I've been doing all along. Who says an old dog can't learn new tricks? ;) Thanks, Wayne! Looking forward to the next installment. :)

  • super cool!

  • I'm so excited about this series! It's like makeup class is in session and the pupils are already Mr. Goss (Wayne)! I can't wait to put your techniques into practices; I love this!

  • thanks for sharing these tips with us, can't wait for part 2

  • I also appreciate the makeup knowledge that you impart. Thank-you!

Oh...and one question...How Do You Do It? I mean...Surely, you are not immune to the fact that men and women from multiple ethnicities and nationalities consider you one of the Sexiest individuals on earth?

But I digress. What kind of eye shadow do you recommend for those of us with normal to medium skin? Powder? Cream? Please Share...and Thank-you!

  • I can't wait til the next vid to see how this trick with the concealer works with the foundation on!

  • Comment removed

  • Ur amazing!!!! loveeee ur videos :)

  • no no, we thank u :D lol.love the way u explain everything. keep on doing it pls

  • This is a great idea for a series. Can't wait for the rest!

  • That's how i do my under eye concealer ;)

  • p.s. I sent you a message a little while ago and would love to hear if you've had the opportunity to try out Face Atelier foundation yet (I love it so much and would just like to hear your opinion). I also would like to know if you've tried and what you think of Tarte eyeshadows - if and when you have the opportunity.

    Thanks again! You're super!! ; )

  • Thank you so much Wayne, for sharing your wisdom so generously. I await your videos with eagerness and my heart skips a little beat when I see there's a new one waiting. You are so informative and helpful.

Keep doing what you're doing and only good will come to you.

  • i dont understand why someone would do their concealer first.....the foundation all ready covers up problem spots....after that then you use the concealer to hide any imperfections.....plus....if you put on the concealer first it only gets smeared when you put on your foundation....I dont know....thats just me....Great video by the way....very informative...

  • i have learnt more from this video than i have with all the other videos on here put together

  • AMAZING!! You are incredible Wayne. Not only is this series very unique, it's also universally helpful with easy to follow tips. I spend my time worrying about expensive moisturizers and creams. I also bought every possible concealor shade to "match" my skintone. Completely useless! I will definitely take on your tissue trick, thank you so much for being so adorable and helpful. I can't wait till your next video :]

  • Hi Wayne, I truly enjoy all your videos. I have found this very helpful and informative. Thanks so much :o)

  • this is probably a really stupid question but i honestly dont know how to tell when a moisturizer or foundation is oil based or water based... ive looked at a bunch of foundation bottles and they dont say anything... SOME of them say oil free so i assume that means they are water based??? am i missing something? i swear im and intelligent person! lol

  • Great tutorial! quick question: how do you prep someone who's face sweats a lot?? i have to do I bridal make-up this saturday, and she has this problem....thanks

  • there is nothing more horrifying first thing in the morning that what concelaer does to your laughter lines - I dont have many really but Jesus they look awful after concealer. I will try your trick, they usually work a treat :)

  • Hi Wayne ; )

You just keep getting better and better!!! I anxiously await for more tutorials! So glad you addressed mature skin and how concealer can make you look older. I seem to have no issues with the smoothness of the concealer when FIRST applied. My crinkle issue happens about an hour or so later. From what I have seen/heard my issue is common. I can only assume it is happening because moisture evaporates causing creasing. So, I will try your tissue idea an see if it helps.

    ; )

    Kim

  • Thanks for a great video........

I took your advice when I was recently buying concealer........

I am asian....... and the advice of going for the correct colour and not lighter shades helped in purchasing my concealer as I have made expensive foundation and concealer mistakes in the past :)

  • my HG prep product is total youth recall- its a gel that tightens and smooths everything out-you can wear makeup over it -last all day..i hardly had any lines when i was 48 now i see a few and with this they are gone! if you decide to try it little bit goes long way!-- to remove bags apply to the outer orbital area not where you apply consealer. it will pull the area flatter and smoother when it dries. Costs $10.00 on eBay---goss's tip on heating creams with a hair dryer really works!! X shelly

  • i find that when you're applying a much lighter concealer on a person who has dark bluish toned circles it tends to look ashy, i definately don't prefer it.

  • thanks for this vid....luv the fact you are teaching us from prep to different techniques depending on situtations can't wait for ur next vid

    <3

  • Thank you so much Wayne, this is exactly the type of information I need. I am so excited about this series!! Hugs

  • Hi Wayne,

Thank you so much for doing this series. What concealer would you recommend for people with severe bluish-purplish circles under the eyes?

    Thanks again. <3 North Wales

  • I know I am not Wayne, but according to color theory, peach/salmon colors counteracts your problem! Cheers! :)
