I ask myself two things: Why people always associate God with religion? I mean, religion is the cause of many problems actually. I believe in God and have a religion, but why can't you simply believe in what you want and shut the fuck up?
The second thing is: Why the fuck you just don't apreciate the music?
@MrGillanking because god is a product of religion. If someone holds deistic views on God, im fine with that. But when the concept of god is shoved down our throats by the church and its slimey politicians, i feel the need to respond. And thats what this song is, a response.

I used to think of it as a person questioning religion or faith because I believe most people do question their faith on occasion but that was not Andy's intention.
I am an atheist and believe he states his case well to get people to reconsider their faith for the reasons cited in the song.

Last night and everyday lots of people die from different diseases, if there was a god wouldn't we all live a healthy life and not have to fight for our lives, I'm asking becuz I have a disease called Nerofibromotosis, having a steal rod in my back and having tumors is never fun. @vanmoody - The fact that people have found a reason to do good things for others is wonderful, but because they did it in the name of religion or God, still does not mean that we have reason to believe that their IS a God. People are generally good with or without religion. We don't NEED religion for a moral foundation in our lives. Morals DO NOT come from religion, they come from within and who we are as people and the environments we grow up in, both good and bad.
Maybe God judged this group because they are on the one hit wonder list. LoL. On a serious note, the book of Job deals a lot with human suffering. I suggest anyone to read it and see that the main point of the book is that God values faith. Job lost his faith for a bit, but regained it. God wants people to have faith in Him, not in themselves. He wants everyone to trust in His Son Jesus for the salvation of their souls because Jesus died to pay the sin debt on the cross.
@Anzec1 If you were God how would you get people to have faith in you? Faith doesn't come when things are working out well. Faith comes when God is all you have. I think the problem is you can't see that faith is more important than being happy. For Faith is eternal. God rewards people eternally when they have faith in Him.

@cerisesbaby10 I would agree with you if Christianity was not true. But the fact is Jesus of Nazareth was seen after he died on a cross. Those are facts that are not questioned. The question has to be answered, "how did he survive after the cross?" Did he rise from the dead or did he pass out on the cross? The latter is called the swoon theory. Plus you have to answer why disciples would give up their lives by painful torture. Something happened on that Easter Morning. He Is Risen.

@Anzec1 Assuming that Job was a real person. Have you noticed that he didn't blame God, but received the blessing from the Lord after his trial. Friend, life is hard. It's not for sissys. In my view the Christian Gospel is that you don't have to go it alone. God is real, and He will save you from the penalty that sin brings, if you will trust in His Son Jesus for it. What we should all want from God is His mercy, not what we deserve.

According to Chrisianity God loved humans enough to give them free will, and will mettle with human's affairs but not often. So if you go with that train of thought it would mean that there is a God and he does love us, but he isnt there to fix all of our problems. Hes there to let us live our life on earth which is no doubt full of hardships and suffering. And he gives us the option to follow him resulting in heaven or not resulting in hell. Last night and everyday lots of people die from different diseases, if there was a god wouldn't we all live a healthy life and not have to fight for our lives, I'm asking becuz I have a disease called Nerofibromotosis, having a steal rod in my back and having tumors is never fun. Most of the stories in the bible were written to happen on the exact days of pagan holidays including the birth of Jesus which most expect if it happened would have been sometime in August. @vanmoody - The fact that people have found a reason to do good things for others is wonderful, but because they did it in the name of religion or God, still does not mean that we have reason to believe that their IS a God. People are generally good with or without religion. We don't NEED religion for a moral foundation in our lives. Morals DO NOT come from religion, they come from within and who we are as people and the environments we grow up in, both good and bad.

Maybe God judged this group because they are on the one hit wonder list. LoL. On a serious note, the book of Job deals a lot with human suffering. I suggest anyone to read it and see that the main point of the book is that God values faith. Job lost his faith for a bit, but regained it. God wants people to have faith in Him, not in themselves. He wants everyone to trust in His Son Jesus for the salvation of their souls because Jesus died to pay the sin debt on the cross.

I think the problem is you can't see that faith is more important than being happy. For Faith is eternal. God rewards people eternally when they have faith in Him.

The question has to be answered, "how did he survive after the cross?" Did he rise from the dead or did he pass out on the cross? The latter is called the swoon theory. Plus you have to answer why disciples would give up their lives by painful torture. Something happened on that Easter Morning. He Is Risen.

@Anzec1 Assuming that Job was a real person. Have you noticed that he didn't blame God, but received the blessing from the Lord after his trial. Friend, life is hard. It's not for sissys. In my view the Christian Gospel is that you don't have to go it alone. God is real, and He will save you from the penalty that sin brings, if you will trust in His Son Jesus for it. What we should all want from God is His mercy, not what we deserve.

But the Bible says that we are being renewed daily to walk in holiness. Hopefully I am more holy now than I was when I first was saved back in 86. I do know this. I love Jesus because He first loved me and gave His life for my salvation.

If God dealt with people who sinned before Him then He would condemn all of us this very moment. The Bible says God is not willing that anyone perish, but that all come to repentence. This is why God has allowed the world to go on, so people would seek Him out.

I am an athiest and proud of it--but I do think that the idea of god should stay. Because some people need someone to believe in on their worst day. But, if you're really strong you have the courage to believe in what's real-yourself, friends, family, and your future. I had to believe in myself and it put me through months of depression but I wouldn't change a thing. 1) Prove there is a god in a physically demonstrable way that can be peer-reviewed by scientists, so the people of earth can see and understand it for themselves;
2) Ask it which holy book is right, if any.
If you could do that we would all be theists, but assuming your god, some people would refuse to worship it because the god of the bible is a psychopath. I'd be part of that group.
