dogpile is a decent search engine that I've been using along with my Chinese one. I try not to leave any personal info. on me out there. I have never given my real address for any site. No pictures out there, not even facebook. For these people to track all my personal e-mails..that did it for me. I assume we just don't have a right to privacy anymore.
You stay they win, you leave they still win in more ways than one! it's like they need us but they don't either way the majority loses, but what do we lose!? I mean really! people have become too dependent on these social sites to the point that it becomes too big of apart of their lives! ...and now it comes down to choice!? ...and Google is such a scumbag rat bastard company that works with all kinds of police and fed, I'm not guilty with anything to hide but I like my privacy too lol!
I have been thinking about finding somewhere else to go. Yes, Google has all my stuff already and won't delete it. I am just stunned at their new policy. I just don't know where to go. They would have been smart to have an opt out. The masses that don't pay attn would accept and those that do pay attn, would stay with the old policy. I wish someone would pop up with another "youtube" of sorts. I would be there in a shakes of a rabbits tail!
My view on this is that it doesnt really matter first your internet provider is required by law to keep records of everything you do, second what information can not be found out about you already, its pretty much to late, and if its not google its someone else facebook, apple , yahoo the nsa your basically being tracked by everyone googles just coming out and saying hey btw were tracking everything you do dont get me wrong it pisses me off but what can you do stop using technology
If google collected data on our habits JUST for targeting ads and services I wouldnt have as much of a problem. But what scares me is if the government can get ahold of the data, google sells it, used as evidence in court, etc.
The Internet is the Government and Law Enforcement's wet dream when it comes to gathering information and surveilling citizens. There's nothing private anymore. It's amazing what "private" citizens can find out about each other without even paying for it. We live in a new reality, folks, and it's getting kind of scary.
It is hard to leave because google controls the video sharing community. People are stupid and don't want to use more than one website. It is very scary how much info these sites get off us. Amazon and facebook track every website you go to then put ads that are relevant to what you've been looking at, so if u have been watching porn you will get porn ads on face book....
From what I've read, they're not really changing too much, maybe I haven't read what you guys have, but I just went to google dashboard, and they allow you to see all the stuff they have on you, they allow you to remove private information from their servers, lots of cool stuff. From what I can see they're giving us more control over our information, so I really have no idea why everyone is so upset about this.
@bweazel I am not as worried as other people. I voluntarily put all my info out anyways. There is nothing they know about me that I haven't already told people.
@MRRIPTHEJACKER2 Maybe thats what I liked about it. Bought it about 8 years ago.

@RealLoveUnknown LOL on "scumbag rat bastard company". It should be up to us if we choose to give up our info. Shouldn't be forced on us.
