Great mod, but cutting the disk drive was probably the stupidest thing you could have done.. Microsoft had made the disk drive in such a way that the disk will spin as it is supposed to, without the case it may move out of direction an will screw up your lens BIG TIME. Secondly, if you do not use your xbox for a long time dust is bound to settle on your disk and lens and it will not read it as it is supposed to. Trust me! Oh yea, and take that fucking intercooler off, its useless.

LISTEN TO CROUZER, the mod is beautifully built. but that intercooler will give you rrod, and it melts the plastic where the a/c power adapter goes in, thts an expensive repair. your better off putting a huge portable fan next to it.

@crouzer what are you talking about? The fans help remove air they are not pushing air back in that would be retarded and no one would buy the damn product. I have one I used it for my older 2006 360 that gets hot this helps quit a bit. They did have problems with the connection because the way its powered it uses some of the xboxs power and it ended up shorting the system or melting the back they did however replace the xbox for people who had this happen and they now make a usb powered one.

The only PROPER way to cool, Is to install a fan in front of the large heatsink and have air blowing through it and out the back, In a circle. That's the bottom line. If you remove the fans inside the intercooler and re-install them backwards, This would be good also. The intercooler is very easy to take apart and modify

@hellsgate09 The OEM fan inside the console is more powerful than the intercooler and even though you feel air coming out, It isn't sufficient. It is creating a hot pocket of air that gets trapped and causees your thermal compound to bake and get hot. It cools when the console is turned off and gets hot again when turned on. The heating and cooling eventually causes it to loose it's ability to absorb heat and keep in the heatsinks running efficiently, I do do this for a living after all.

@crouzer Whoever made those Intercoolers must've never had an Xbox. A good design would maybe be putting it in one of the empty vents (and adding a dust filter). THANK YOU for mentioning that. The original fans that the Xbox comes with are removing hot air from the heatsinks, and this is just blowing the hot air back into the Xbox.

Ah, no because it has a little 'cup' kind of a thing on the bottom to make the disc stay in when you have it standing up. (also it was built to run the disc sideways and standing up, like the wii)
