  • I had this done Sept. 8th. I couldn't even watch this video made my knee ache.

  • Had my acl surgery on the 2nd of august and i am now walking without crutches i am allowed to walk around without my brace but i have to wear it when going out in public etc etc and also when going up and down stairs... the only problems i am having is the swelling and the little pain i get from where the hamstring was removed

  • @Xorzale

sorry mate you're going be out from skateboarding for a while. i had mine done 10 months ago and i still not aloud to do anything on impact like that.

  • @Xorzale about 6-9 months

  • Why did i watch this D:

I get this on 1st November

  • i need this surgury and it looks horrible dang..

  • I had this injury since I was 10 I finnally got surgery last Friday!

  • I need an acl but im getting a cadaver instead of this. Is the surgery much different does anyone know?????

  • @Edmund676 Ofcourse they don't have to harvest the hamstrig tendon, but I think the rest is pretty much the same, but I'm not an expert!

  • @SophiaTNY they take a part of the hamstring and fold it and make the acl

  • Would stem cell research one day help avoid having to graft like that?

  • i get this in three days

  • dang... i just got it done on aug 5th they don't do it like this anymore .... they do it this way

  • god i gate the acl, i play soccer since i was 5 and now im in my mid 20`s and have started to feel pain in my knee, screw this surgery, im taking time off playing

  • when was this video made 10 yrs ago now the surgery is all arthroscopic

  • @DGreg04 hell ya im only 15 i just got it 3 weeks ago but my parents didnt belive me when i told tem that that shit hurts

  • This is nothing like i thought it would be damn, wtf they were hammering that shit in there i have this surgery on aug 10, 2010 only a cupple of weeks this is going to suck.

  • omg hell no not willing to do this

  • I'm gettin this doneto me on oct 28 2010

  • I wondered what all the vibrations were that were going on when I had this performed in 2002 under a spinal anaesthetic. Didn't feel a thing tho' - just vibration when they got power tools out so had some "loopy juice" and a little doze. HONESTLY nothing to freak out about folks. Yeah uncomfortable afterwards but get working hard with your physio & you'll soon have the brace off and the bend going again :0)

  • i'm getting this done in a few weeks 8-3-2010 now i'm scared shitless.Yikes! they better put my ass to sleep for this shit or else i'm gonna be a fighting mad motherfucker.

  • thank god i watched this video after my cirgury...i had it last friday june 11th... after seeing this i can tell all of you that it doesn´t hurt as much as it looks...

  • omg im geting this done and im scared shitless

  • I had it done on Friday. Now my knee hurts.

  • i just had this done 4 days ago why did i watch this video now im f**&*& sick

  • porcamadonna

  • Senza quel tendine, il ginocchio non è più stabilizzato come era in origine, e non si torna al 100% come prima. Per riparare un legamento rotto, rompete una cosa che stava bene così. Bel lavoro complimenti !

Without that tendon (semitendinosus), the knee won't be as stable as it was once, and there's not even thinking about recovering 100% functionality of the knee. To fix a damaged ligament, surgery implies breaking something that was in perfect conditions. Job well done, props !

  • heads up. i had 4 acl and meniscus reconstruction and once you had 1 knee surgery there's a 75 percent chance that you may tear it again. What we did on my last surgery was we used a candelabra and that was a year ago and it seems to work for me. I have arthritis cuz of so many tears that i have no cartilage in my knee.

  • Nice. I had that operation 5 months ago:)

  • ahhhhh i dont want surgery!!!!! this is too extreme ill take my chance with muscle thereapy

  • I'm a 16 year old girl about to do this in A week because of soccer. But the surgery looks fun hahaahaha

  • I did this operation 5 weeks ago. It was a bit difficult in the begining because of anastesia that needed 3 days to recover myself and blood flushing to your leg when you go to the toilet. All that makes you feel you undertook something realy hard but actually worth.

  • Well.. i go for this surgery on monday, after seeing this, im nervous now. Hope that it does not turn out too bad

  • The hammer was a little rough....

  • You guys should have had one in 1986, Ive had 2 since then

  • mine wasn't painful at all. had only one shot for the pain right after the operation. i wanted to see the process so they didn't put me to sleep and it didn't feel bad at all. but it seems worse in the video. i had no pain after i was released from the hospital. had to use crutches but otherwise could move freely. 5 months have passed and i can play soccer but im beeing really careful and not using my operated leg to land and to turn

  • @calitry Yeah another spinal patient who watched it all on TV :0))

  • the blood rushing , so thats wat it was then

,wow that was sommit else that pain

  • nothing hurt like that blood rush that you guys are talking about. in fact I barely felt any pain regarding my acl, throughout the process. but the blood rush when you get up, OMFG, I wanted to scream out loud. the morning routine of taking a piss, brushing teeth and getting some breakfast was hell. KEEP YOUR FOOT ELEVATED AS MUCH AS YOU CAN.

  • @sucableadi I HATED getting up to use the bathroom! My leg was numb..then the blood rushing down *shudder*

  • Thee most painful surgery. Recovery was a horror. Getting up to take a piss and having that blood rush down to the knee made this grown man cry! But I'm back on the court so enough said.

  • that blood rushing is killer

  • you serious man? it hrts? I have to have this done i na while, I completely tore my acl, and medial meniscus, as well as my patella ligament. any info?

  • @dullahdashti same here bro, im fucking scared shitless

  • I had a contra lateral BTB graft so both knees felt like they were going to exploded everytime I stood for the first bit after surgery. My docs office was on the 17th floor and the elevator starting or stopping made my grit my teeth. I think getting on and off the toilet with out brusing a cheek was the hardest thing!

  • I had both of mine done. Used part of the patella tendon to replace the acl...First week the toughest, i'm not gonna lie. But after that you start seeing little improvements each day. They put me in physical therapy right away (within the first week). It helped speed up my recovery. You have to strengthen your quad muscle and keep your knee joint flexible.

  • It is a painful surgery, but the pain is short lived. A few months of pain or a life time of falling and pain. ACLCENTRALdotCOM

  • i lied it kills in the hospital. i just had mine done 2 weeks ago and it kills sooo bad in the hospital and when you get home its hard to move around. you dont wanna move your leg because ur afraid its going to hurt. but for everyne getting it dont let ur head get to you cuz itll limit you more than ur leg.

but if you build up ur leg muscles itll help you in the long run. im a huge athlete and its helped me get back to my sport alot easier.

  • 02 was my first operation, it hurts very bad. 2 weeks only no using the knee, then i can walk a little bit. i was 1 week in hospital. on 06 i was there again, another Doctore makes it, on the same day i go home, 4 days later i can walk near normaly. 4 weeks later i go walking an 8 weeks later i play football again. its important, wich method they do ;)

  • i have been subjugate this operation it's so deficult

  • actually it hurts really bad. not to scare you but im 15 and ive already done it before and i just did it again on my other knee.

it just hurts in the hospital.

  • bullshit it just hurts in the hospital ive had my knee rebuilt 6 times .. lol ...... hurts up to 2 months after ... i was down and out for 17 months the first time ... and 15 months everytime after that .. were talkin likke 6 yrs of hardly ever walking ... it does hurt like a son of a bitch .. you are right but it hurts long after the hospital

  • yeah, i'm going in about a week.

    not nervous much.

    seems pretty cool :)

this is the shit i want to do to other people! hahaha.

please tell me, is it painful? :,(

  • Oh fuck.......I'm having this done soon

  • I'm having this done in a month or so :o(

  • i know what you mean. i feel your pain. hahaha. i'm having mines next tuesday and watching these videos...man i'm glad they'll put me to sleep before the whole surgery. lol.

  • !!!!!!!!!!Fuck!!!!!!

  • How long does the surgery usually takes ?

  • On the table time is about 2hrs. I arrived at the hospital at 6am and I think I was back in the car on my way home by 10am. Had my right ACL done on 04-20-09. Join us to talk about your ACL injury at ACLCENTRALdotCOM

  • my operation only took 45 min and it was done by Dr.Shelbourne not including table time

  • I dint get a horizontal cut, mine was along the length...huh!!

  • No question about it, these fellows are artists in their trade.

  • how did the guy not bleed when they cut him open

  • the used the drill with me :)

  • The Hammering! Thats just absolutely wrong!

  • i had no idea when i had my surgery it was like "THAT".

  • yeah..
