  • It has been those moments when I give of myself, to be Truth. The opponent however is fierce. We are all the knight on the beach.

  • raw, execrable folly. So be it. The balance is in the air: the agent is in a bed of clouds suspended. Is there, and could there be, an ethic and civic union between the best moods of true Christianity, and of those acting against it? The others may be sophisticated; and the simplicity of Christ is cast in vain upon all cynics, both those who profess Him (Jim Bakker) and those who deny Him (Richard Dawkins). Sublimation of the self in service to others experientially has been to me Truth.

  • Do you see, Bergman is saying nothing new. He is saying that a soul only has to choose between its freeness, its lightness, in the love and fear of God, and what else remains. What else remains is the spectre before us, and those of us who cling to the light are not to be blamed, but only for our actions and not our belief; in fact we may be justified. Should the converse be the case, that those of us who cling to the light err, we cannot say we execute error in the face of God's plan, but only

  • could you upload the rest of the film with subs?

  • I feel so damn fascinated by the grim reaper, så jävla intressant JAG E DÖDN.

  • I love the squire's mighty defiance. The whole film is a masterpiece, and it grows richer on every viewing. The scene in the confessional alone is staggering.

  • Yust a beatiful movie, possible one om the best non-mainstream movies ever. Every line, every director-thought has been plan into perfection. The chessboard play the role as the path of his life and his fight against his question and ambivalens against the question about what life is. I think this represent Bergman's person i somehow. Yust beautiful.. as simple as that.

  • good just good nothing more dont exaggreat

  • @esraretin The greatness of this movie is 'exaggerated' not by the storyline or dialogue, but what it incites the viewer to wonder about. Something not found in most american movies today. If american movies do make you wonder, it keeps your wondering at juvenile levels. But if you're the sort to expect the movie to be 'entertaining', i.e. do the thinking for you, or stimulate your reflexes, then this movie is not for you. Stick to Mother Goose and American movies.

  • @according2ed idont know i feel that people make this kind of things bigger than they re.

  • @according2ed now now...never saw Slaughterhouse 5? Zardoz? Modern Times? Our Hospitality? The Crowd? No juvinile elements in dem flicks.

  • @according2ed Thats because you only watch american movies which are given enough funding to make it to your country with enough exposure for you to be aware of. Have you ever sought after American independent films? How dare you throw a countries creative into the same threshold.

  • can't wait to see this for class next week! :D IT feels like the whole movie is like a chess match against chess...I like :)

  • Nicely condensed!

  • This film is just beautiful.
