I've been homeless before not to the extent these people have, but we all have that kindred connection. this blf person is probably just a poser. I wouldn't be surprised if this group of people kicked him out for his douchebaggery. there probably wasn't anyways for the city to capitalize by allowing the homeless to stay so they bulldozed the away. why were these people not arrested for defecating in public?
If there's no equality in law, then there is no law.
And if anyone claims ownership of the river, I'd like to see the 'chain of ownership' back to the creator of that river. If they can't show that, then they have no claim.
By leave of God... you homeless people have the right to extract justice from those police... by force! They have violated your right to survival... you have every right to violate theirs!
Im not worried.... Within the next five years this country is going to experience a depression that will make the 1930's seem like a picinic... And when the bulldozers and police show up it will be dead heavy equipment operators and cops floating down that river....
Oh and I wouldnt worry too much about becoming homeless, there will be plenty of vacant McMansions in which to squat in..... Be pretty funny watching them bulldoze the banks property....lol
The US Corps of Engineers (and possibly the TN Department of Natural Resources) should certainly care about heavy equipment being used to push trash into the river. Wouldn't that be a dredge and fill issue? It would if an individual or a developer were to do it!
I really don't understand how people can be so heartless, more compassion is needed everywhere, People also need to realise that while a select few homeless people do "choose" to be homeless, not all of them do, If they could get a hand up instead of a handout, then they stand a good chance of being prosperous citizens again......I ave many ideas of how to help...but do not now how to proceed. I have lived in a homeless camp in Seattle Washington before.
Why would you treat anyone like this ?? When I see a homeless person I feel compassion and others see a subhuman person they can have power over.Give the people 24 hours to move next time !! Don't destroy their homes and belongings.Only a heathen hillbilly would act like that.
Look on the other side of the bridge and you will see the apartments you can see it in your video. Just because the DHS office is on the south side of the bridge doesn't mean anything. You say it yourself that it is close to the food stamp office and why are you getting so mad and cursing. I will say agian you have no idea who I am, I have spent more days and nights under that bridge then you could even know. I saw what the people that lived there were doing, and it was a health hazard.
By the way, blf, there isn't an apartment complex anywhere near this location - the area is bordered by a cement plant to the north and a DHS food stamp office to the south, so before you start pointing the finger, at least get your facts and landmarks straight.
Some laws are put in place solely to harass those who experience homelessness, so don't throw that ridiculous, rigid bullshit in the faces of those who are suffering. And since you're so knowledgeable about the homeless, I wonder why it is you didn't mention that the city has a policy of notifying homeless peeps 24 hours prior to closing a camp. These folks got about 5 minutes. Take a look at the 1500 blog posts I've written and you'll clearly see I hold peeps responsible for their actions.
Bluelinefever is a perfect example of the ignorance and prejudice surrounding people without homes. In a city where only two - 2 - public bathrooms exist and the gentrification of the area has eradicated all affordable housing, BLF chooses instead to point the finger at the poor, who have no options at all for finding a place to live. let's hope BLF doesn't one day wind up homeless; it'll be a real eye opener and bathrooms will be the least of the worry.
Ignorance is when someone has no knowledge about a specific subject, and how do you know that I am ignorant about this subject? You have no idea who I am and never will I help the poor in Nashville everyday its my job and the ones that lived there were breaking the law. That is why the city did what they did. I understand that you want to help but you have a very closed mind and will not hold people responable for their own actions.
The people that lived under that bridge was causing a heath hazard and some not all of them were deficating in front of the apartment building and the department of ''children'' sevices that is next to the bridge and police were called to that location in an attempt to stop the people from doing it, but it continued. I wouldn't want my child to see that like the other ones that have.
I live about a mile away from that camp on north 2 nd and about to be evicted. Hope I don't end up like these people.Makes me cry!

So, one can not legally dump anything into the rivers and water ways, but the city can push everything into the river.

Pretty heartless to treat the homeless in this fashion.
I have been living in a tent for nearly three years now. I know how they treat such persons personally.

Honestly, I'd live in this tent city, before I'd even consider moving into a gated subdivision with all its rules and ordinances.

Thanks for posting this, and investing the time in the lifes of the voiceless, helpless folks who have no rights remaining, despite harming no one.

If citizens shoved all that stuff by and into the river, they would get arrested and fined. Where is the compassion for the homeless in Nashville?
