I've just purchased one of these, it wont import to imovie without a converter, you can't charge the batteries separately from the camera, they don't last very long and where I live batteries cost 250 bucks a pop! The picture quality isn't anything like this clip. when objects move any faster than a snail they become blurry, the color temp is shocking and I can't see any noticeable image quality over a single chip with it either. The sound is terrible in the slightest wind.., I could go on an on
1 If have a budget around $4000US dollar, can check out the JVC PRO "GY-HM100" it's the first camcorder Save files to MOV format that 100 percent support "Final Cut" on Mac! or Search on the web use keyword: com/eng/GZ_HD5_6/index_qc.php com/downloads/macosx/video/ com/downloads/macosx/video/ind ex2.html or search the video call "Test." from youtube user "herofiscus", he use FCE! or ask Apple shop!
"When things happen in our life, it our duty to find the solution to make it batter or think what this even will lead to something grater and beyond. by me, lol!"
"It is what we make out of what we have, not what we are given, that separates one person from another by NELSON MANDELA"
2 Right, off topic again! First try update the "Apple Software Update" then try search on the web use key word: > jvc mac final cut tod gz-hd6 > eng/GZ_HD5_6/index_qc.php > products/ne/update_qtc_for_gzh d7/qtc3e_update.htm Or search in JVC site Or search in Apple site use key word: > MovieConverter Studio > tod iMovie *Enjoy the life!
Even you find in most Professional Camcorder only record format in 30p(29.97)/ 60i(59.94) for NTSC(US/ JP...) and 25p/ 50i for PAL(EU/ UK...) like JVCPro GY-HM100 or JVCPro GY-HM700!!!
RE: FW: the GZ-HD6 it's smaller, have 120G HDD but don't have the "direct manual function access" key like GZ-HD7, so if you don't use manual a lot then HD6 is ok. Because in HD6 you'll need click on the manual key> navigation though the function list> select> change the value> and ok, then repeat again if you need other function!
Since having HD6 I have gain some experience for it and get use to the function navigation process, find out if you not using film technique the joystick manual is not bad, but for sport filming the shutter speed at lest 1/250 with good day light other wise the picture will have Motion blur.
Right, HD6 low light filming at lest 7 lux & HD7 at lest 18 lux, it's mean HD6 can filming at darker environment then HD7, at the same time HD7 must have some lighting source if you want to filming at same low light environment. You can buy some 12v flood light(because it can use 12v car battery) form Automobile Tools shop it's kind of portable & cheaper then pro lighting gear.
I'm watching in HD right now. Thinking about getting this camera. You did an amazing video upload quality. Is there a special way to upload videos on to Youtube?
Second is about the camcorder the GZ-HD6 it's smaller, have 120G HDD but don't have the "direct manual function access" key like GZ-HD7, so if you don't use manual a lot then HD6 is ok. For NTSC(US/ JP...) model They capture and process in 60p record to media storage in video format 30i and play back though GZ-HD6's HDMI is 60p.
For PAL(EU/ UK/ etc...) model They capture and process in 50p record to media storage in video format 25i and play back though GZ-HD6's HDMI is 50p.
(p.s.: i=Interlaced, p=Progressive)
*Don't forget use 1/250 shutter speed with good day light for sport video shot.

um dont just assume everyone knows-im just doing a public service
kurtc0841n 3 years ago
yep. its very nice u can check out mine if u like to.
Anyway i didnt find out about this before yesterday. Its very nice, BUT &fmt=22 wont work on all videos!
Only videos with AVC/H.264 (its the same codec with different name lol)
And when it works, Youtube cooperates with the HI-DEF, LOW-SPACE file and codec, giving the best quality ive seen.
I think it also needs to be 1280x720..
Youtube just converted to vimeo ;D
have fun.

I'm not sure is this helpful or will you read this, I just give it a go!
First it's about the upload, on "Video Upload Page" try the "Use multi-video uploader" it's on the right side.
